I had my first WLS on 2/12/10 which was a lap-band and I weighed 212 lbs. I lost 39 pounds over the 1st year, I had a leak in my port that was not addressed by my aftercare facility until 2012. The port was replaced in October of that year. After the port was replaced I no longer had the restriction that I had before. My surgeon put me on phentermine and I lost another 13 lbs. I decided at the beginning of 2018 to have a revision surgery to the sleeve. At that time my surgeon removed all of the fluid from my band and I gained 20 lbs which put me at 181 lbs, I lost 7 lbs before surgery.
