I got sleeved July 23rd. I am in my 2nd week Post Op. Happy Birthday to us all! My birthday was July 1st, so this is definitely a great way to start our year off right with new beginnings. I was already getting in the mindset of healthy eating, so when someone bought me a cake over, I cut me a piece, wrapped it back up, gave it back with a huge smile saying Thank You!! They looked at me like I had lost it! Who gives a birthday cake back?? LMAO!!

I was sleeved on July 18th and yesterday I tried a bite of steak for the first time. I’m so burned out on liquids I need to move on to foods. I did start lifting weights and I think I hit my first plateau after losing 28 pounds.

I had my surgery 7/24 and feel the same way. Meeting with my NUT tomorrow and hoping she will allow me to eat something of substance- maybe puréed or soft foods. Fingers crossed! A steak sounds delicious :-)

Happy Birthday is right! Today is exactly a week for me (7/24), down 15lbs and feeling great- except hungry!!! But I’m going to hang tough! Good for you with the cake! See, we can enjoy cake, just not the “entire” cake :-) This is our chance to learn and perfect healthy eating. Best of luck to everyone!!

I believe I hit my first plateau too. I’m down 28 pounds since starting this journey. I know you’re not supposed to weigh yourself everyday but I have since the surgery and the last few days I’ve held steady around the same weight. I’m sure it’ll change next week when I go back to work.

Did you measure yourself? I’m down 23 pounds... I measured myself and feel like I have lost inches...

I was told no working out until 6 weeks out. No more than 10lbs (lifting) and nothing more strenuous than walking. Be careful with your lifting weights.

No I haven’t measured myself yet but they did measure me at the doctor’s office. I’m sure I’ve lost inches because my bra’s and clothes are all really loose now.

Had surgery July 10th. Am eating puréed foods. Getting sick of tuna and canned chicken. Eat yogurt cottage cheese and eggs. Really bored.

How are you getting on at this stage? I get that full feeling after 3-4 bites of anything and if I eat more it's quite uncomfortable. Hoping it goes away soon.

Yes. Me too. 3 to 4 bites and I’m done. If I push it it’s like a lead weight in my stomach. I want real meat so badly. Like a meatball or prime rib.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
