I don't think they have us do this diet so we can shrink our liver. I think it's so we can get used to our stomachs hurting so damn much from hunger. LOL. Today is the end of week 1 with another to go. It's been OK but dealing with it every day is getting REAL Old REAL Fast.... Good luck to all of you and do your best to stick with it. WE can do it!!!!!

I agree with you, but think it is a dual purpose. It does get us used to weighing, measuring, and dealing with the reality that is to come. I guess it's also a window where one can have second thoughts and back out. I don't know of anyone doing that, though. It was a 7 month process of "vetting" to get to this point!

GR has good hospitals. I'm in Mt Pleasant area, surgery in Alma. Did you go through months of testing etc to get clearance?

3 ladies with a "M" connection.no make that 4. Michigan, Maryland, Mount Vernon Ohio where I am and Heatherlarae, another pretty Buckeye who lives in Mercer County Ohio, in If I read right in Celina, a pretty city near Grande Lake St Mary's, although I haven't been that far west in a few years. Heather welcome, you have landed in a good area, these are helpful ladies and I'll try to keep that train of thought going. Where are you, gping to,have your surgery? I will be going to OSU later this month and having a RNY. I am older than dirt (72) but I am going to rock this surgery! Except for being a tad mother-hen like I don't act my age. If you have any questions we can help please ask, no matter what the request we had an answer. Other day someone made a joking comment about cannibals, I have a friend from New Guinea who once was one, came here for Bible College. So anything you come up,with can't be any odder that that!😨

Yes, you’re correct. I’m in Celina. My surgery is in coldwater, a small town in mercer county. It’s been a long process leading up to this month, but I’m so excited! And a little scared. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Good luck libbyleeb . I hope your nervousness subsides and all is well. I am sure your surgery will go just fine. Best of luck on a speedy and easy recovery!!!

My surgery went smoothly according to my surgeon and I am recovering as expected - lots of discomfort but nothing over the top. So far, so good.

A word of advice for everyone- Avoid being in the hospital over the 4th of July. Even in my fancy NYC hospital, operations broke down. Everyone was shocked when they couldn’t send me home with my meds because the pharmacy was closed for the day. WTF?! After a scramble we found some liquid painkillers for me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
