I lost nothing for a week post op. As a matter of fact, Im pretty sure I gained a lb. i went to my one week appt and cried my eyes out when they weighed me. The doctor explained that it will come off... the following week I was down 10 lbs and have lost 25 lbs post op so far...now Im at the dreaded 3 weeks stall... Believe me, I know its hard. I told my husband that I wish I could fast forward to a year from now lol.

Brassapple: 1st congratulations on that 18 pounds! You should be proud! You are rocking it! 2nd- of course you’re hungry w/ Soup and drinking your protein! I would be too! My doc only had me on a liquid diet for a week post -surgery and then they told me to starting food. But soft foods, my staples are Turkey chili , eggs, Greek yogurt and organic apple sauce. Sometimes chicken, bits hard to get down. Maybe some soft foods will help. 3rd- your body and hormones are changing, depression is normal.
4th- I understand how hard this is for you. I fell and broke my foot the week after surgery, which delayed my exercise program. I was so bummed, all wanted was food. That’s when I realized that food was my friend .. it was there when I was happy or stressed, but mostly when I was sad. And it was time to say goodbye to that friend.
So, even though my process was delayed, I was able to find that piece of my obesity that was the most problematic and face it. I guess that broken foot was a blessing in disguise.
Please be proud of how far you’ve come and be kind to yourself! You haven’t made a mistake and you will triumph!!

I think a pound a day is fabulous! Take a picture of your face, then take one in a week. You will freak at how different just your face looks. Mine looks like it shrunk! Good luck and take heart...you are on an amazing journey.

This is SUCH good advice! Just compared a pic of my face from before the surgery to now and it's like I'm a different person!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
