Hi @annie93. I have posted the link from this website of the Protein Powder I use. Its expensive but its 30G of Protein per scoop which saves you money in the long run because you get more Protein so that you don't have to use more scoops as other brands which have less protein per scoop. Plus I do find that it has no flavor and does not change the taste. The only thing I have noticed is that it does not blend as well in hot items. You have to make a paste with it and then add the hot to it. But it works perfectly in cold or room temperature drinks. You have to mix the protein up really well as soon as you add it to your drink because otherwise if you leave it for a bit it will form little protein flecks. I mix my daily drink at the beginning of the day with 2 1/2 scoops of this particular protein powder and that is my entire protein quota for the day right there. perfect! Buy some and give it a try - I am sure you will be pleased

I find all of the shakes overly sweet as well and recently I realized that I can make an Australian iced coffee. Decaf instant coffee usually 1 tsp or to taste with just enough Water to dissolve, then add Fairlife ff milk and ice. 26 grams of Protein for two cups of milk!

So, I went to Vitamin Shoppe last night and came across Isopure Protein Drink. It’s clear like Water and comes in several flavors. The green tea actually tastes like iced tea. It isn’t too sweet and for me doesn’t have that Protein taste. 40g protein in a 20oz bottle and no carbs.

Isopure also tastes great! Both the unflavoured and flavoured. Really smooth

I purchased Protein Water from Sam’s... I had the same issue with Premier shakes... its just seemed way too heavy for me. The water has been doing well for me

I hate them, hate them, hate them. I don't like sweets, for one thing. (If they made a nacho-chip flavored Protein Shake, it might be different!) I hate the aftertaste, the grittiness, etc. etc. etc.

ARGH.

*sulking a little bit while trying to drink this @#$% Protein shake*

I think you’re on to something. Doritos should partner up with a Protein drink company. “Nacho cheese Protein Shake”. “Cool Ranch Protein Shake”. I would drink that.

I looked at the Isopure website and the Lemon Green Tea has 73mg of caffeine in it. My dietician told me I cannot have caffeine. Is that what your team told you? Otherwise, this sounds like a great drink, albeit expensive per serving.

Yes, I’m supposed to be off caffeine, and actually, I am. I quit coffee a few days after my surgery just because it didn’t taste good to me anymore. I hadn’t noticed the caffeine content in Isopure. To be honest, I couldn’t finish the bottle. It’s like my body physically rejects whey Protein. Not literally, but it does turn my stomach to even look at a bottle of the stuff. I bought the blue raspberry too and have only had a little bit of it. Not bad, but I know if I drink more of it it will turn my stomach. The blue rasp has 40 grams of caffeine.

I do not like headaches and I do not have them very often now that I am off of caffeine. I started my WLS journey back in March with surgeon #1 (I'm currently on surgeon #2) and learned at the introduction seminar that I would have to give up caffeine. At that time, I was a heavy caffeine drinker, having both iced tea and Monster Low-Carb energy drinks every day. It took about a week to get over the cold-turkey withdrawal headaches and about a month before I got over the cravings, especially when I was tired during the day.

I am having a little problem, I didn't drink coffee for the caffeine, or the taste really. It was for the warmth. When I got allergic to chocolate, I lost out on hot cocoa both regular and sugar-free. So I started with coffee, albeit,half-caff. When I lived closer to a health food store I transferred my love to "carob cocoa " made it with low-fat milk but sweetened with honey. Wonder if stevia would work? Does it hold its sweetness in Hot Drinks? Somebody told me Kroger stocks Carob powder, haven't been there in a year or so just been to Wally World and they DON T stock it and not keen on getting it in, doesn't fit their precious "mod", setup. You,would think they would have some discretionary footage. Maybe herbal tea?👉😪👈

What does your surgeon say about caffeine? I see you are over four years since surgery if your profile is correct. I learned at the seminar that caffeine is a diuretic (actually, I knew that already) and can irritate the new pouch. Since I am at risk for dehydration due to other medical conditions, it has been an easy decision to stay away from caffeine. I do give myself B-12 injections every two weeks. That really helps with my fatigue.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
