I hate protein shakes

  • Popular Post

I hate them, hate them, hate them. I don't like sweets, for one thing. (If they made a nacho-chip flavored protein shake, it might be different!) I hate the aftertaste, the grittiness, etc. etc. etc.

ARGH.

*sulking a little bit while trying to drink this @#$% protein shake*

I hate protein shakes. I hate them in the rain, I hate them on a train. I hate them in the sun and perhaps they would be better with rum?

  • I hate them in the spring I hate them in the fall I think I hate them most of all . I'd pour them in a dish and give them to Rover Please let this pre and post surgery diet be soon over!

  • I'm having unflavored clear protein water with fruit tea. So much more palatable! And some collagen hydrolysate in my morning decaf

Well the Premier Protein ones (IMO) are sweet but no aftertaste or grittiness that I am aware of. I did thin them out with decaf or hot water which was a little better but I was so glad after 2 weeks that I could do pureed and mostly get rid of them (still use about 6 ounces vanilla in my morning coffee instead of creamer).

You are almost 2 weeks post op so hopefully you can see the light at the end of the tunnel...lol

Thanks! I'm actually 3+ weeks, but I can't get all my protein in without at least one per day. I'll try Premier.

HaHa!! I guess the new math messed me up.....

I like some of the protein soups here on Bariateic Pal. They are a good savory alternative.

i have stocked up on those...they come in different flavors too...starting pre op sunday and not much for sweets either, but these and the other flavors are good, plus can't beat 42 g of protein per shot :)

@roleypoley have you tried the Rockin Protein drinks Nnoi recommended on another posting, they sound kind of good,? I'm in Ohio, I know Shamrock Farms make them and we can find them at both Speedway and Krogers.???
Also svelte makes a soybased one, you give up a little protein rating but it isn't that yucky sweet and I don't taste a pronounced soy taste.

Get the unflavoured protein powder and put it in your regular drinks and soups, you can put it in anything you eat, yogurt, tea, whatever. Has NO taste but the protein is there. Have you tried that?

Roleypoley that is one of,my failings.some people brake for cqke, some are sweet-freaks, I am a cheeseaholic, I -❤cheese especially Swiss so fondue would make me go "oooo!"
