GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +

Recommended Posts

Well Mic I am very proud to👂 hear this; I understand S all of us do, how HARD it is to lose Down That Way, some days You Wonder if it ever Will Happen but slowly and steadily it will. happen.I remember myself how it felt to Break 300, and then 200 and now, on my my 13 month Surgiversity I am 181 this Morning, really only 6pounds to the Goal I Set Myself. Was it Worth it All? Most Days I think SO, this AM I sure didn't , I am So Weary of Emesis and it seems to be my Constant Companion. Restriction- that's a Fine Idea- Yes Indeed but never feeling quite WELL, to gain all the benefits I relinquished a LOT and sometimes it bites BIG instead of a gentle gnawing. But I Have Survived a Lot in my 73 years of LIFE, I'll make it through THIS CHALLENGE As WELL As I CAN and I do wish that for YOU. TOO.

Lowest weight since having kids 10 years ago. So thankful for making this decision and that my journey has been mostly easy compared to some. I did eat Pasta for maybe the third time since surgery tonight. But that meant a couple bites. One breadstick instead of 3. Meatball first. I’m satisfied and husband and sons who are now eating my share couldn’t be more satisfied. 🤣

And I believe Emily Jane that you WILL BE ABLE to do it - not gonna be the easiest thing to do but I often believe our former weight had us stuck in Hades and now we deserve a chance for our HEAVEN. Work Work Work with what your Surgery can do for YOU, from the Lofty search of 13 months elapsed I know mine brought me the opportunity to become what I was always inside, a wonderful NEW ME- I am one- half the size I started AT , been staying at 180 or there-abouts, was 178.5 this AM before drinking and my morning smoothie time so artifically LOW, but I went through a lot to get where I am and diet alone could never done it for ME- believe I was once on Every diet in the Western World, even some I think were formulated from somebody's warped imaginarion, and had pitiful results- so 1/3 bariatric surgery, 1/3 Rocky recovery times and the rest? Bull- headed stubborness, I am a naturally strident redhead who no LONGER accepts what advice is faulty and misguided, even if I am not PERFECT I do give it my Best Shot and I am one heck of a Female although I'm still a Lady too!

I am new to Bariatric Pal and am currently 391. My goal is to have vsg surgery in January 2020, my goal weight is 225. I was recently diagnosed with severe arthritis in my right hip and that I will need a hip replacement within the next year or two. I am even more anxious to have my sleeve surgery, feeling frustrated that I still have three months of required appointments before I have surgery.

I understand your frustration, @KMB1218. It stinks when you're ready in your mind to have it done and you still have months to go before insurance will say it's good to go. But hang in there. The months will pass by, and think, it gives you more time to prepare emotionally and mentally for the changes coming.

BTW, Welcome Welcome

Great topic! I was 391 in March 2019 when I was nearing the end of my preoperative testing. My unofficial high was 410 lbs. Down to 368 and 4 days away from surgery on Monday, Dec 2nd!

Highest weight 316. Surgery was 9/24 and I weighed 285. Im 245 now. I'm curious to follow other's progress who started over 300 pounds as well. Had to pack up all my clothes and send to good will recently. Went from size 24 to size 20. Super excited for all of you who are fixing to start your journeys.

Yes. It is an amazing feeling. I initially picked my goal weight to be 170. I'm in new territory here so once I hit 170, I'll see where I stand. I didn't think 170 was obtainable for me but the more I lose, the more convinced I am that I can do this. Congrats on making it out of the 300s!!! No small victory there!!!

I started at 315. Currently fluctuating between 208 and 209. I am stalling I think as I have only lost one pound since Thanksgiving. There is no rhyme or reason behind the stall. It's just happening, I started at a size 26. Am currently an 18. My waist measures at a 16 but my large stomach prevents this

My highest weight was 405. The day of surgery I was 360. At 349 today 7 days post op. Realistically I see me being around 230. I would love to see 180. But whenever I am healthy is where I wanna be!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
