Has anyone gotten the sleeve with a 35-37 BMI? I went to the doctor today to discuss the gastric balloon and he recommended the sleeve. My BMI is 36. I’m 5’2 and 199 pounds. He said that the sleeve would help me loose 40-60 lbs. I’m scared that I may exceed that amount.

My BMI was 38 at first consult, 36 on day of surgery. I did worry about losing weight during the 6-month period before surgery, but once I had insurance approval, I was all in. I don't believe your body will go too low. That seems pretty rare here on the message board.

How long ago was your surgery? And has weight loss been what you expected?

Including pre-op, I am 10 weeks out, ~40#s down. I've never actually lost 40#s before, so this is pretty cool!
