I was just banded on October 25. Because of everyone on here I knew to walk as soon as possible and a lot that really helped me. I have had very little dicomfort with the gas.

This forum is so very helpful for all of us newbies to get advice before the next step.

Thank-you everyone.

I was banded a month ago and had horrible gas pains up under my ribs and felt like I couldn't even breathe sometimes because of it. I was using Gas-x strips but they didn't help at all. I switched to the extra strength Gas-x chewable tablets and it really did help a lot. Moving around as much as possible helps too.

Yep, be the little engine that could.....toot your way to relief, and I am serious. Burp and (ahem) fart EVERY chance you get. This is not time to be a lady (or gentleman). GO FOR IT! Heating pad works well also. You can also take the PAIN MEDS. That's what they're there for....PAIN.

Walking did not shift mine. I had such severe gas pains post op I was given Morphine twice. It doesn't last for long (a couple of days bad, then bearable with regular pain relief). It went completely by 10 days post op.
