I hate it when people post just to post.....

....like when clearly the post has no relevance or adds no value to the OP's question or concern.

Like this:

OP Question: I am having trouble finding a good fish recipe I like...can anyone help?

Response: I hate fish! Fish makes me gag!

Can someone explain the purpose of this? I mean, if you don't like fish, then why dont you just move on to the next thread? Who really cares what makes you gag or not gag???? I know I don't.

Good morning everyone!

I miss you Tap.

I'm a chowder head.

Hi everyone!! Longtime lurker, sometime poster here.

I need some help here mainly from kc and plain..... I went to my PCP Monday after a week of gas / bloating / diarrihea and she said I may have gallbladder issues. My question is what the *$ can I eat that will not cause me to bloat so much. I know this is a loaded question...... I am not so much worried about nutrition at the moment, I am just looking for something that will not make my digestive system go beserk (medical term!). I am mostly unfilled due to a *&!@ leak but that's a whole other issue.

Sunday the waffles and OJ were ok as were the granola bars. Monday, the granola -- not so much, but the O'Charley's loaded potato soup and chicken tenders were ok, just in time for my doctor's appointment of course!!:)

Thanks!!

Beth-thinking of you and DH today while he has surgery.KC-how is the mouth? I think you mentioned you were having the other side done today? I hope all is well.Ebony-how is the neck?TPG-how is the blood sugar?

susy -

I had my gall bladder surgery about 9 months after lapband. I thought I would die when I had fried chicken over a holdiday at DH's parents. I thought it was the worst PB ever. I didn't have to go too long since I was diagnosed on a Tues and had the surgery on a Fri.

But, from what I was told and read, low fat foods are the best for gall bladder issues.

What are "issues"??? Does that mean you have gall stones? I'd have the doc clarify that one.

Does the gall bladder need therapy? (har har har...I crack me up.)

Good morning everyone!

I miss you Tap.

Ditto! Every word, except "morning"! What is this "morning" and is it painful?

Hi y'all!!!

I vote it was the scale. Did you have it on a completely flat surface (no tile)?

It's on a flat surface next to the toilet (only place I've got for it to set flat other than the entry way or the kitchen!) so that hasn't changed.

Here's what I'm looking at:

Sun: 176 (since Friday, no less!)

Mon: 181

Tues: 178

WTF!!!!!!! It's fairly new but damn if I'm not going out to buy a new battery today. So pissed!

THANK YOU!

Good Morning to you too!

And I miss Tap too!!!!!!!

I have absolutely NO advice but just want to send you my best wishes. I hope ALL of it gets resolved soon. Take care!!

Thanks, Glouc!!

And there are days where I'm asking the same question! And yes, sometimes it can be very painful!

PJTP: DD and I are spending the AM outside b/c it's so nice right now. She's playing in her sandbox and I'm playing on the computer.

<Rant!> DH had to, once again, take my truck to the tire shop. I hate that place! We had to put new tires on it back in Feb. (That's when I blew the tire driving down the highway.) Anyway, since then the truck has needed an alignment and the tires have needed rotation and re-balancing... twice!!!! This is NOT normal!!!! I've NEVER had this sort of problem with tires before! Flippin' tires aren't going to last a year at this rate. They're already showing too much wear for their age. And I've NEVER thrown weights off of tires like we've been doing on these. GET THE DAMN WEIGHTS ON THERE SO THEY WILL STAY THERE!!!!! Sheesh!!!

We don't put a lot of miles on my truck and we don't do a lot of off-roading (and haven't since the last round of re-dos) with this truck so it shouldn't be doing this. And we didn't have this problem with the old tires. It's only since getting the new tires at this place. This place sucks but we were stuck and had to go there and now we're paying for it! UGH!! <Rant off>

Whew! I feel better! At least til DH gets home and tells me what happened! LOL!

I hope y'all have great day! BBL!

Thanks Glouc --

We are still in the diagnosis stage. Today was the collect stool sample day, if the pain gets worse or the samples (took blood too) are not conclusive then we'll move on to an ultrasound.

She also suspects a GI infection. At one point I vaguely recall her saying it won't matter what you eat or what OTC drugs you take, you will continue to have symptoms until we get you on an antibiotic..... But didn't prescribe one yet.

I hate to say this to jinx myself. My tummy is louder today but not as bloated and painful. Loud I can deal with. Painful sucks!!

Well, off to deliver my samples!! Yippee!!

I forgot kc was having her dental work today -- hope you are soon feeling better kc!!

Today was the collect stool sample day, !

mental note not to be eating when reading this thread - coffee OK; wine even better.....

TAPS MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

puts it in bold

happy bandiversary michelle!!!

got nothing else - :) oops beth, let us know how DH is ?

sorry - I had began to write this and then realized I was going to be late for my dentist appt if I didn't leave - so here goes again:

suzyt - no one's the same and you can get weird symptoms from something totally different than another person - but usually when I hear gallbladder 'issues' it brings to mind intense pain usually associated with eating fatty/rich foods (like glou was saying). some people do get referred pains up into a shoulder.

although you can get bloating and gas (actually kinda the same thing - bloating comes from being gassy) with some mild gall stones - usually when I hear gassy, bloating and diarrhea - I tend to think something totally different - could be many things but some examples that come to mind: recent change in diet and or fiber intake, excessive rich foods or dairy in a higher ratio than other foods on a system thats not used to it, high sugar alcohol intake (sugar free foods - most don't bother me but there is one type of sf popsicle that is no good for me), lactose intolerance - can be new onset, varying degrees or different trigger foods, Irritable bowel syndrome, etc - forgot to include infection!

don't know if this helps - but good luck and bottom line - I hope you feel better!

2nd day of teeth work - is done - ok so far but was warned I might have issues tomorrow.

KC, hope today's dentist trip is not too bad!

I agree with all the good stuff everyone said today. Scales are strange beings. I seem to have lost 3 pounds overnight. Hmmmm. I don't know much about gall bladders so no help there. I also miss Tap. Hope Beth's DH is doing well with his surgery. Slim, Glou, how you doing? Happy Bandiversary to Michelle! Ebony, hope the neck is better!!

Thank you all for getting me addicted to FB. I was up until 4 this morning. Farming and tending pets is hard work. Then I explored the site, etc. Hopefully tonight I can restrain myself. The liquid diet is going okay. Still not hungry. Just waiting for the hosp to call and give me my time. Any suggestions, etc. are appreciated. Taking my pillow, e-book, slip-on tennis shoes, Chapstick, etc. I just want to get this over with now. I've been waiting long enough. I wanna be banded like all the cool kids...

Take care everyone. Hope you all had a great day!

Lose the beer. Margaritas or wine please. I'll be there right after my surgery! Goodbye city life, Lulu's Acres, I am there.... (bad singing)

LOL!! Me like Margaritas too!

PJTP: Well hell! Got the tires rotated and balance. Yet again! And on top if it they scratched the heck outta the rims! WTH! THEN had the cajones to wonder why DH was mad about it! Yes, we know they weren't brand new and yes, they had a few minor scratches but these were bad enough for DH to notice right away! They had to take the truck back in and polish the scratches out. Didn't do a very good job of it and DH was ticked! Told 'em they lost a customer and we'll be filing a complaint with the head office and I'm thinking maybe with the BBB. This place sucks! :tongue2: We've had nothing but problems with them!

Anyway, got new batteries for the scale. Based on what it was weighing me after the new batteries, I'm afraid it's me. Not gonna help that I said f'it and sat down with DH and his wavy lays and a big bowl of green onion dip this afternoon! Dammit!

Why can't I stop eating? I'm not even f'ing hungry! I need my f'ing head examined! I want this weight gone so bad and yet I do crap like this and f'it all up! I'm my own worst enemy and I can't figure out how to change it! :smile2:

Sorry for bringing you all down. I'll see you later. Bye.

I need some help here mainly from kc and plain.....

I'll let KC take this. I don't have much good advice. The last time I tried to "help" somebody, I got in some legal trouble. Turns out the police don't really like it when you set up a kiosk at the mall advertising "free gynological exams". I mean, I had a privacy curtain.....what's the prob?

I would still say that it is probably water weight or something similar. Our weight fluctuates quite a bit just based on what we have or haven't taken in. I understand your frustrations, but remember how far you have come. You have done an awesome job on your weight loss. You also know that we don't mind you venting. We are here for each other.
