Man, the marshmallow drop sounds fun. Enjoy!

Tap-have fun playing in the dirt. I know that you will be glad to have a day above freezing. I'd swear that you and bbg live in the north pole!

All I can say is that I am happy it is above freezing for the marshmallow thing this year. Last year it was in March and it was absolutely frigid. It is going to be 45 today woohoo! Really though the weather changes are what is killing me. We had like 5 inches of snow on Monday and yesterday it was almost 60. Pick a season already Mother Nature...geez.

I have to go pick up the kiddies and take them to the big marshmallow drop today. Nothing quite like watching a blizzard of 20,000 marshamallows being dropped from a helicoptor.

Ummm...why do they drop marshmallows? Dont the gulls/pigeons/crows/ other carrion (or sky vermin) swoop in and eat them? Don't the mice/rats go wild at night eating them? What am I missing???

They drop them in a clearing in one of the big county parks around here. The kids get to run out and collect them and then turn them in for prizes. From the huge crowds that are usually there I doubt that many marshmallows are left over. The kids just think it is cool to see them all falling from the sky, and they like getting prizes.

ahhh....i think I understand. They have 20K prizes??? Is it one per marshmallow, or only certain 'marked' mm, I'd cover the ground in tarps or something because otherwise I can see the wee ones eating a mm that landed in dogcrap or something, is this s spring ritual? (I have been accused of over-thinking things; maybe this is one of those situations)

They do this yearly on Good Friday. Each kid only gets 1 prize regardless of how many marshmallows you get. You only need 1 to get a prize. They do have maybe 10 marshmallows that have wrting on them at get you a bigger prize (usually one of those big easter baskets). Otherwise it is just a goodie bag with candy, crayons, and a coloring book. There is no tarp or anything down and the kids are told not to eat the marshmallows. The little ones have a parent with them to go find the marshmallows. They also do 3 drops, one for ages 4 and under, 5-7 years, and 8 and up. But yeah, just something fun for the kids to do while they are off school for the day. Here is the info Tap

Am I crazy? I got an email saying someone was posting to test tickers and such...where did that post go?

Like Mac said, he deleted it, but we can still see it. :tt2:

PJTP: Went to the movie with BethinVa. We saw Knowing. She now knows what kind of a chicken I am - I think I hit her on the shoulder when the creepy guys in the movie were coming after the kids. We had a nice dinner of Soup with a glass of wine.

Now I have to clean up my house because the cleaning lady comes tomorrow!!! I know - crazy talk!! hahahaha

I love horror movies. I am going to go see that this weekend with my kids.

As for cleaning house before the cleaning lady come, I used to do the same thing. I am thinking about going back to a cleaning lady at least once a month again, because I hate cleaning with a passion.

All right ya'll...I'm heading to bed. I don't flash folks like SOME people here do. (I won't point out names, Donna) but I do get a little frisky! :tt2:

Wow, I can't believe Plain hasn't responded to this yet. He must not be feeling well or something.

PJTP: NSV: C-cup! 'Nuff said!!

Sweet! I am hoping my DD's will go to a C, but that has never happened when I lost weight before. I have been a DD since a junior in high school when I was skinny. b_r_a__by_cdcrap.gif

Ohh Tap I am so jealous of your nonworking day. But at least I only have a half day today. I have to go pick up the kiddies and take them to the big marshmallow drop today. Nothing quite like watching a blizzard of 20,000 marshamallows being dropped from a helicoptor.

That sounds like an absolute blast. Enjoy.

Okay, I think I can survive today and tomorrow. Sunday, it is time for full liquids!!!!!

Hate them, hate them, hate them!!!

As for cleaning house before the cleaning lady come, I used to do the same thing. I am thinking about going back to a cleaning lady at least once a month again, because I hate cleaning with a passion.

I do the same about cleaning before she comes. I was on a monthly schedule and then stopped b/c she didn't do a good job. The service called me back about their "specials. I negotiated from an every 4-week schedule to a once/mo. schedule and $15 less! It's all about the haggling!! :tt2:

Sweet! I am hoping my DD's will go to a C, but that has never happened when I lost weight before. I have been a DD since a junior in high school when I was skinny.

I've been a D since I was 17. I went on a liquid diet in college and got down to an 8 and wore a C. It was awesome!!!!!!!

Okay, I think I can survive today and tomorrow. Sunday, it is time for full liquids!!!!!

You can do it!!!

Dad's heart cath went well; he has no blockages. Woohoo!!! He has some artery disease (?) for which he'll be put on a statin. We're all very relieved and thrilled about the news. :tt2:

Then it's never gonna happen. All we can hope NOW is that they don't turn into double-longs.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
