YAY, for you, Susan. That's good news.

I wonder are my kids on some site talking about me like this? I remember making them get out of bed just to come and change my channel in my bedroom. Does that make them "remotes"? Trust me, they already have told me that they are going to put me away in my older days, thus, I got a lapband to stay healthy and stay away from them.

I always tell my mother/parents than I'm the child that will be living in the south so they need to be nicer to me since I'll probably decide on their nursing home!!! That smart ass bought me a finger towel with that basic saying!

I'm posting to tell you all what just happened to me and my Band!

I went in to see the doctor for a fill (have been hungry lately and the weight loss stopped). He gets the needle into the port and discovers there is NO FILL in there! Again. This is the second time this has happened to me. So he decides it's time for an X-ray. He wants to check for a slip and a leak. Well to make a long story short, he injects 3 cc's of contrast (I have a 4 cc band) into the band and I end up in a CT scan (not flouro, not just an x-ray, but a darned CT). He determines there is no leak, no slip. He leaves the 3 cc's in there and sends me on my way.

Well, I'm instantly not hungry and my DH and I were on our way to meet friends for drinks. I grab a Slimfast and I notice an immediate difference in swallowing. I can't take a big drink as it's uncomfortable, but manage a few sips. I have an drink at the restaurant and I notice it's tight, but I'm doing fine. Until 2 am. I wake up with the worst pain in my throat and stomach. My throat feels like it's on fire and there is a sharp pain in my stomach that comes in waves.

Long story short, I can't tolerate it any longer and at 5:15 am, he takes all the fill out. All of it. I feel better of course, but he says I can't have a fill now for at least a few days until my stomach settles in case of any damage. OMG!

So, here I am. Tired from being up all night, frustrated and sore. I just don't get what's going on with my band. He determined that he must be "missing" the port when he's giving me my fills. Ugh.

So that is my post just to post...my rant for the day. Thanks for listening. I know it's usually funny around here, so sorry if I killed the mood! LOL

~Carol

Sorry to hear that Turler. Sometimes I wonder if I might have somthing strange going on with my band too. One minute I'm restricted, the next I can heat a horse.

??

I hope your stomach is okay.

Oh Turler, that must be very discouraging! I'm sorry this is happening to you; I hope when you do get a fill it is successful.

Oh man Turler, well at least you know now that he just has to hit that darn port and you'll have restriction!

I'm posting to say I've lost 1.5 kilos in the last 10 days after having struggled with my fill level after my slip and total unfill a few months back, and putting on 5 kilos in the last 2 months.....I WILL get to goal darnit!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
