I don't know what was more fun - the drinking to excess and not caring since it's a rarity for me,

I just don't enjoy alcohol since my surgery. I go from sober to slurring my words with just a few sips and then 15 min. later I'm cold, stone sober. I can't get to that mellow stage.

It takes all the fun out of it.

That's it? No pics? No details? Nothing? Ya gotta give us more than that!

You need to be on Facebook.

Hi Ebony! Hi KC! Hi Glouc! Hi Kat! Hi Plain! Hi Beth! Hi Susan! Hi G4E! Hi Heartfire! Hi BBK (if you are lurking)! Hi SMS! Hi luluc! Hi Tap! I hope that I didn't miss anyone! Wow that is a long list of names!

Ahem. :cool2:

The girl that ate the chicken? !?!?!?!?

You mean the troll who ate the chicken? Not worth responding to IMO.

Sorry Mac! Hi!!!! I knew as soon as I put in a roll call that I was going to leave off an important name. I am so very sorry.:cool2:

How can she have sex? She ate the chicken!!!!

And Pool Girl of course she was snarky with you---all your parts are ancient, and no longer work. I should know, mine must be too.

ps.....don't tell hubby yet he is under the impression they still work!

OK, there is a problem with Pool Girl tho.....the name is long to type, and PG is taken!!! Guess you will have to be Tpg!! J/k

We had a wild day at work too. I get a call from a patient that he is bringing in a co worker who has something in his eye. So I begin moving appointments some and set up for a foreign body removal---the guy gets there, and he looks like he has a tree in his head, there is a small branch firmly imbedded in his eye socket, but not truly through the orb of the eye. We are like a block and a half from the hpsp. but he comes there! We sent him on over! LOL

Then this afternoon was flowing smooth, and in walks a patient and she has a detaching retina----she said she began seeing bright flashes and then dark spots, and now it looks like a page folded in half. So the Dr, tells her it is good she come in right away because the earlier they can catch it, the better they retain after reattachment, and she tells us, well it happen early this morning, but I had bridge, and it got to bothering me too bad so I left.

IDIOTS!!! Through my day way behind, I am supposed to get off at 2 on Friday---got out just before 4. But DH is still not home from work, so it will be ok!

Hope everyone is feeling much better today......in spite of some of us having reallllllllly old and non functioning sexual organs!!! LMAO-------oh dear, ya think I laughed more than my a$$ off????

I was scared to drink my own spit and she had chicken and tried to have sex!?!?!?

I guess my parts are old too. I agreed with TPG assessment of the thread. Too much info even for the powder room.

I vote for TPG too!

Unfortunately, even after all of the laughing I did, I still have alllllll of my a$$. :cool2: I did enjoy the good chuckle though. Thanks TPG for mentioning the chicken eating girl. She was good for a laugh if nothing else.

Drunk typing, I had never done it. I am with Mac, it sure doesn't take much to have me slurring my words (or mistyping). Of course, it could have something to do with the lack of food in my stomach. All I need now is the younger cute guy like KC had and this would be the night of my dreams.

Hi everyone!

Nope, not sleeping. Worked today, came home early thinking maybe I could sleep. Just started to drift off, and the phone rang....so I've remained up, watched some TV, had some hot Soup, had some wine, and soon an OTC sleeping aid. If these don't work, someone, please club me!

Kat - if your parts are ancient and you're in your 40s, as I am in my 50's, I guess mine are ... what's older than ancient??? Prehistoric? Thankfully, my parts (and DH's) are too stupid to know they are too old....but exercise does keep them young!

Oh, and re: people can be idiots...yep. A bridge game??

A night like KC's - can we arrange a field trip?

TPG - Transponders? Is that what the young people are calling them these days?

G4E - It shocked me the first time I visited my sis in California, asked for tea and got iced tea. To those of us in cooler climates, tea is assumed to be hot unless you specify otherwise!

Is it bedtime yet?

Have a great weekend for those of you that have a life (unlike me) and won't be on here that much.

You know I'll be here, Slim.

As much as I would love your company, I am hoping that you are finally able to sleep. You need about...16 hours at the least?

TPG - Damn! Maybe we should all take up a collection and get her some - b/c she's obviously an addict and gets nasty when denied.

Who would want to be with that?!?

Well, hell's bells, folks. I was starting to get worried about myself what with my old, dried up parts. That post was just plain gross. Glad you all agree. I was wondering if I had suddenly become a prude. Whew.

Please, no confusion with me and the original PG! You can call me Laura if that's easier. Either TPG or Laura and I'll say here I is... I won't be hunting for The Lord on other threads...I think PJTP may be my new home. Thanks for welcoming me in. It's scary out there.

Tap, you gotta get some sleep. First, make sure your satellite goes out, then get up at crack of dawn for contractor. Take brief time out to deal with your crazy parents. Let dog in and out all day long, each time making sure idiots (parents or contractor) have closed gate. Wander streets looking for dog. Sit and stare into space. Find creepy, nasty, skanky post on LBT. This last part may be enough to send you right over the edge if you allow yourself to have a visual of Skank Night at the chicken Ranch :cool2:. If all else fails, find hammer and apply to head. Nighty night. Seriously, I hope the sleep improves.

Transponder - if you gotta ask what it is, well, yep, you're old and dried up . For the record, I'm 40. Geez, did I say that out loud??

I hope everyone's everything improves. May you sleep, eat, screw the pooch, find lost M&Ms in couch cushions....whatever you need, may it be yours. Thanks for all the laughs!

ROFL. My child was asking me what was I laughing about. There is no way I could tell him about the chicken eating woman (or screwing the pooch for that matter:tt2:).

Have you ever started typing something only to realize that you had your fingers in the wrong position? Talk about drunk posting!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
