OMG! OMG! I can't believe it! I should never have said I wasn't going to count my weigh in! I hit ONDERLAND! OMG! I am crying! I haven't seen 1 anything on the freaking scale in 10 years! I didn't update my ticker. I want to so badly, but I know that I will cross back over 200 by Monday, but my goodness! I actually saw it on the scale! I re-weighed 8 times just to see it again!

Way to go Slim! yay!

I can't hardly wait till I hit onderland. I remember the last time I seen it. It was in "89". I was very sick and almost died. Had emergency surgery for it. After surgery I actually weighed 197. That was the lowest I remember, ever! I look at my pics as a kid and can guess about how much I weighed, but from about the ages 12 or 13 I weighed 225. Weighed that for yrs. Then over the last 20 yrs of yoyo dieting I gained to over 300. Don't cha just love yoyo dieting? So healthy:sneaky:

I weigh in on Sat. mornings. That way I don't flip if I gain over the weekend when I have the grandkids here. I do pretty good, but still will eat things I know may be a wrong chiose for me. But to be honest I weigh more than that. But Sat. is my official weight.(unless it is lesser during the week. Then that is my official weight) LOL

Everyone have a blessed weekend. I am fixing to go mow the yard and finish cutting down holly bushes.

I always did my "notebook" weigh in and measurements every other Saturday. But I weighed every morning! And celebrated those lows!!!

Slim--------you MADE it!!! It might bounce back up there, but the point is you know you did it and can do it again, and WILL do it again!!! Yay You!!!!

Shaving is a thing of the past for me. I lost everything---down to my eyelashes with chemo, and amazingly----not much grew back except whats on my head! I do have lashes again, and very fine occasional hairs on my arms....I shave my legs once a month or less, just in case I get a stray there--pits the same. Other areas just didn't grow back----so it is not a choice, it just is what it is.

Makes life simpler! And DH is not turned off by it, nor is he a pervert----he realizes it is not something I chose either, and he chose to be happy about it!!

SIL is out of the hospital, not doing well. She is limited to warm, Clear Liquids, and she goes back on Monday.

Well I have a full day of errands and work to do if I want a lazy one tomorrow!

Everyone have a fun weekend!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you... ha ha ha I have been floating all morning. Of course, cruel reality reared its ugly head. I had to eat Breakfast. Is it wrong that I wanted to not eat all day just so that number wouldn't change?

Kat-I am sorry that your SIL isn't doing better.

G4E-I am glad that you survived the trauma of emergency surgery. That had to be aweful. I am so sure that you will get back to that weight (but lower:wink2:).

My son got in the biggest trouble ever on the bus as a kid for telling the driver to put his arm down....when they went past a dead skunk on the road. The driver totally blew it out of proportion, he refused to allow him back on the bus.....was a totaly mess. Yes son was rude, and I had no issue with him getting a bus slip....but come on, he was a 4th grader----bathroom humor, farts, odors----that is what boys laugh at! Punishment was more to us than the son!!!

So anyway ever since, when we smell a skunk the entire family says.....Ewwww Mr. Dennis!!!!! LOL

And while son was rude he grew up to know better than to say those things, and is not in prison like Mr. Dennis predicted....ggggrrrrrrrr!!!

Kat, I had to laugh when I read this and by all means respond....my Dh's name is Dennis and guess what, he drives a school bus. No, we live in Texas, so it was not him. That would be something one of his kids would say and he does have a sense of humor and he would have called me and we would have a good laugh about it. I'm so sure he would have told the kid something obnxouis back and moved on, but never put him off the bus cause fighting or swearing would have rank for that. Thanks for the chuckle.

Whoo Hoo!!!! That is so exciting!!

I weigh everyday but my official is Fridays. That's the one that goes in iCal and on my ticker.

SIL is out of the hospital, not doing well. She is limited to warm, clear liquids, and she goes back on Monday.

I'm glad she's out of the hospital but sorry she's not doing well.

PJTP: Well, today didn't start off too well. An old friend from HS died tragically last weekend and his service was today. CHURCH BUS TRAGEDY I didn't have anyone to watch DD so couldn't go. Was barely awake when DD went into the kitchen to get something to eat and she peed all over herself and the floor. She did it 2x yesterday too and she's not been a lot of fun this week, soooo after I put her in the tub I sat in our bedroom (right outside the bathroom) and cried. I'd also bottled John's death b/c I just can't believe it happened. I need a break but don't know how to get it. I told DH that I'd love to just take off by myself for a couple of days when he came home but I don't know where I'd go, what I'd do and we can't afford it.

Anyway, the day did get a little better. DD and I took the dog and did our walk. When we got back I took my shower and made a grocery list then we left the house. We went to lunch, then walked up to a new store that just opened. Found some cheap stuff (it's a bargain place) for DD's kitchen! Then we went to the grocery store. Came home and put things away. We've had dinner and I'm waiting for 8PM so I can put her to bed.

I'm just worn out. Mentally and physically. I haven't been sleeping well this week either and that NEVER helps! LOL! I always have weird dreams and horrible nightmares when that happens.

Oh and DH just called to say we need to have my truck towed to the shop. It was making some really weird thumping noise. He blew it off but I told him Tues PM after Bunco that it was getting really bad and he needed to drive it and take a look. So he drove it Wed and said he'd take it to work on Thurs so he could look at it. It's the center support bearing for the driveline. Ummm yeah, ignore me. That could cause major damage to the transmission and/or driveline and/or transfer case!! I knew something bad was wrong! I worked on cars in HS. I'm not a total idiot!!!

I won't go in to details but he got the part but can't replace it. So DD and I go pick up tomorrow AM when he gets off shift. First thing Mon AM I'm then on the phone to the shop to see when we can have it towed down from the station. Then I get to make that happen too. I'm so excited! :smile2:

Anyway, thanks for letting me get all of that out. I needed to do that.

I need to get DD ready for bed. Have a great night everyone!

Kat-I feel like such a dunce. Please forgive me. I misread your post about your SIL. I must have skimmed (I am really bad about that after years of reading too many novels). I am so sorry about your SIL not doing well. I hope that she gets better soon.

If a few day trip is out the question, is there someone you would trust to maybe let DD spend the night with? That is how I would get the much needed breaks. My mom and an aunt would take DS for a night or two just to allow me time to relax.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
