How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?

I just started mushies phase, and I bought some cottage cheese. I'm not a huge fan. Any suggestions for some mix-ins that will still work for mushies?

  • One of my favorite recipes is Cottage Cheese Pancakes. Make sure that you undercook them when you are on the mushy stage so that they smash well with your fork. The recipe is loaded with protein too

I like cottage cheese with sliced peaches, or crushed pineapple

or.....cherry tomatoes & green onions;)

For me its FF cottage cheese mixed with natural no-sugar applesauce. Its easy to cary when i'm running around and the mini packs are just right.Actually, I end up not finishing it, but I get all I need/want

Ok, I've figured out that cottage cheese just isn't for me. I tried salt and pepper ... no. Peanut butter ... sort of ok. Applesauce ... no. Rasberry spread ... no. I'm glad I tried though!

I love it. I eat it almost everyday.

I recently bought "no salt added" by accident - G.R.O.S.S.

Can I just clarify - you never can tell with the differences.

To me, cottage cheese, it comes in a tub in the dairy section and its all curdy, little lumps of stuff, doesnt taste cheesy?

Coz what you're all talking about sounds good, lol and to me its just one of those, I dont hate it but wont go out of my way to eat it type foods.

I am talking about the same thing - white curdy lumps in a small bit of liquid, not sharp cheesy tasting?

Yep, that's it.

1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese

1 tsp grape jelly

40-45 seconds in the magic bullet

Feels as if I am eating desert, yummy

i eat cottage cheese with sugar free jello . totally yummie. i buy the sugar free jello all made up in the 6 pack . low carb and good for you. ............

I used to hate cottage cheese until my daughter told me to mix it with yogurt. I really like that now. There is a brand here that comes already mixed with pineapple that's pretty good too.

When I was newly banded I made a lot of cottage cheese whips.

The base is always the same:

1/3c cottage cheese

1 3.5oz can of chicken

I put it in the food processor, and then add flavor: Greek seasoning, lemon pepper, or BBQ sauce. My absolute favorite is the buffalo chicken whip. I put hot sauce in it and then add a few bleu cheese crumbles on top when it's all whipped.

The whips are sooooo good, and the cottage cheese "texture" isn't there.

I never did sweet mix-ins, though some of those suggestions sound kind of tasty.

One of the recipes I got from the Body For Life plan was to mix cottage cheese and yogurt together. I love it! I eat it that way and eating it right now as I type.....I mix it with the Carb Control strawberries & cream yogurt. yum yum.

1/2 cup cottage cheese ( I use lo fat)

1/4 cup blueberries (fresh are best, but frozen will do)

1-1/2 T Splenda brown sugar blend

Yummy.. like eating a protein dessert!
