Massive gut not shrinking

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I have noticed that my massive stomach is not really shrinking at all. The weight seems to be coming off in other areas. My legs look thinner, my shoulders and chest look thinner but my stomach isnt moving. Has anyone else experienced similar issues. I know I carry most of my weight in my stomach so maybe that is why but that is the area I really need to shrink so I can fit into shirts better.

There's not always a detectable rhyme or reason for how the weight comes off. I'm darn near thin now, but with very nearly the exact same love handles I had 135 pounds ago. Nothing to do for it, but ride it out and be glad the weight is coming off.

Hang in there! If your gut holds that much weight, some of that will start to come off sooner than later.

I feel the same way! My legs are like little sticks, and it makes it hard to find pants. They say people loose the belly last!

I'm behind y'all at only 20# lost, but ALL of it seems like it came from my arms, neck and shoulders. I carry maybe 90% of my weight in my abdomen, and its going to be 100% soon, LOL.

I'm struggling with the same thing. I've noticed it has gotten smaller some, and its where i carried most of my weight as well. At 57lbs down people are really starting to notice so it makes me feel good and not dwell on my pudge lol

Same here, I have lost some fat there but not as noticeable - my legs have thigh gap, I can see collar bones, and turkey neck, thinner face, etc. But my belly is shamelessly sticking out there.

Yep, I am in the same boat. I am sick of it. This huge belly is not cool and I want it to shrink damnit.

I'm down almost 30 lbs and could not figure out from where, shirts and pants fit the same. Then I was in a hotel the other night with a big mirror and great lighting .... I've lost it all in my thighs! They are all sad, lumpy, and droopy now. I'd really like to start losing in my darn stomach!

Anxious to see where I lose mine, make you a bet. Yeah I'm still pre surg but if my post surg goes the way my feeble attempts at weight loss before- it will be waist-boobs- thighs-tummy-a**. The butt fat never seems to go for me.[emoji34]

Butt cheek flab 4 sale- cheap. Will even ship to the right interested party. Only used for 73 years but a few more miles of wear left on tread. All offers considered. Actually only,72, but it's time for the new model years to come out of Detroit.[emoji33]

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
