Halo top ice cream

Recommended Posts

First time buying this. Anyone else trying or tried it? It appears to be same amount of carbs and Protein as regular yogurt... So it seems harmless

I’ve had it, but it has sugar alchol, which I really don’t like. Just exercise good Portion Control because it won’t fill you up

Thanks,
Turns out it was too hard and cold I could even bother to try it. IDK what I was thinking its still winter. Back in the freezer until summer...

I tried a few flavors and didn’t like the texture or the after taste. But the Yasso frozen Greek yogurt is awesome. I have one occasionally and it’s the closest thing I’ve found to real ice cream plus it’s got Protein.< br>

I love Halo Top. It is the only ice cream I can eat. I have the chocolate and chocolate mocha chip. Those two are my favorite.

I do not care for the other flavors though.

I have to be careful and measure it out. It gets the sweet craving out of the way. The down side for me : It's easy to eat the pint and make it a meal. Ice cream is my weakness/kryptonite

The smartest thing to do post sleeve is to get sweet foods including sweet tasting foods out of your life. It isn’t that hard, when you are right after surgery. Then, in the coming months as you learn to eat again, your intestinal community of bacteria, your gut biome, will be populated by the kinds of bacteria who don’t crave sugary tasting stuff. Which means you won’t crave sweets. If you eat sweet things still, you’ll have a much harder time avoiding them, because your gut population affects your brain and your cravings to get the foods THEY want. They do need starchy carbs. But the right kind. The good kind, they are fine with carrots, potatoes, beets, Beans, seeds and nuts.

We would do well to use this special post surgery time to change WHAT we eat. Add Probiotics, fermented foods, and drop the sweet tasting things. Just a suggestion that I am trying. Cravings are too powerful. I’m happy to have lost them.

Thanks
I changed what I ate well before surgery and so the only thing I had to give up was bread and seltzer Water.
I don't eat junk foods but I wanted an ice-cream alternative to keep around because realistically I'm going to eat it again at some point during the summer and I wanted to try it out at home instead of outside incase I reacted weirdly to it. This one interested me because it has a higher Protein amount and chicory in it (which has a fibrous laxative effect on me )
I don't eat refined sugar gave those up a year ago but I still eat raw honey, stevia, pure maple Syrup, cacao, dark chocolate etc and have no plans on giving them up because this is my diet for life and my NUT has helped me worked them into my plan

We get this every once in a while. A couple flavors I wasn't a fan of, but others I enjoyed. It's a nice alternative. I like ice cream but was never a fanatic about it where I needed it all the time (pre-surgery life at least). This is nice to have from time to time when I do feel like a treat.

Where can you buy Halo Top Ice Cream? Is it a health food item or can it be bought at General supermarket, Target or Wal-Mart? You've piqued my curiosity.

Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Most main supermarkets will have it. They only come in pint sized containers. Unless you can find it on sale it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Most pints are 320 calories and less for the entire thing. Upside is it actually has Protein in it as well and the carbs aren't horrible.

I adore Halo Top. The mint chip, salted caramel, and red velvet are my favorites. My kids even eat it and like it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
