Couch to 5K - Week of 28 October ? 03 November

Hi everyone,

this is our third week in the Couch to 5K program. This is designed to be a 9 week program, but you can repeat weeks (as I will be doing) until you are comfortable moving on. However, you are not supposed to skip weeks.

It has been strongly suggested by trainers and runners alike to NOT run on consecutive days.

More information can be found here: Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

Attached are the first thru third weeks in detail

Anyone is free to join, no matter where we are!! :(

This is the place to check in and support with each other and see how it is going.

What week are you doing?

How is it going for you? Is it too difficult / too easy?

Any comments??

Good luck everyone!

This is so awesome. Thanks for the new thread. I think I'll start week 2 today, then my schedule will be Sunday, Wed and Friday, the the new week starting on Sundays. Have to see if that works!

Cindy

Well i did week 3 workout 1 last night! Phew, 3 mins runnning! I was nervous about going that long but i actually made it!

I interested to see if JM is going to try week 3 this week ---YOU CAN DO IT!!!! .

Im thinking...here is a freakin 375LBS man doing week 3! Holy smoke i didnt think that was possible.

I just finished week 1. I did sessions on Monday, Wednesday and today(Sunday). I was too busy Friday and Saturday to do it so the week got kinda messed up. When all of you started Couch to 5K I thought it would a great thing to work on and it didn't seem so daunting because it gradually gets you into running. I hope you guys will allow me to join you even though I'm pre-band.

I think I'm going to do week 1 over again, but up the speed. My brisk walk was only 3.6 mph and my "run"(jog) was 3.9mph. Today I did 3.7/4mph. I'm taking Jachut's advice and starting slow and working my way up.

If you any of you redid Week 1, what were your speeds the first week 1 as compared to the second week 1?

You all are such inspirations to me!

It is rough. That is the three minute runs but overall ity also also felt really short. Did it feel short to anyone else?

I think I'm going to decide which week I'm doing when I get on the treadmill tomorrow night. I'll have to let you all know then. I just peeked at week 3 and the 3 minute run is freaking me out!

I did week 3 workout 2 today. The 3 min run did freak me out the first time on sat but once you have done it once your ok. i just stared straight ahead rather than stare and the seconds going oh so slowy

Yes im treamilling it for now.

Today Week 3 workout 3.

OK so im REALLY a bad rule follower. I did week 3 on Sta, Sun and Today (Mon) I figure i am going to do week 3 at least 2 or 3 more times this week before week 4 next week.

i started week 2 today and it tired me out a bit. By then end of the workout my face was red and i was sweating, but it felt good! Running for 90 secs at 5.0 wasn't so hard. I am excited to finish out the next two and move on to week 3! I think I can do this!

That is the worst - I am constantly dealing with cake parties and generous co-workers also!

I am jealous because I would like to go run today too but I am a strict rule follower!

mmmmm ... brownies ...

sniff ... pitch ...

thats what i do when im craving stuff sometimes ... a sniff is all it takes ... unless of course i am in one of my 'moods' ... then i take the whole box... j/k.

I'll usually run two times on a treadmill and one time outside. The first workout of the week is on a treadmill, the second is outside, which where I run is kinda hilly, and the worst workout, then the third workout is on the treadmill and really feels easy. Usually the second workout and I take about 20-30 minutes to really stretch out too. I don't get to stretch everyday so I try to take the time after that session.

I'm going to try week 3 this week, but I'm reworking the days so I'll do tues, thurs, and sat or sun, instead of mon, wed, and sat...I see my trainer on mondays now, and I just can't go straight from work, to trainer for an hour, and do c25k all before I eat dinner. Way too much. Its probably better to workout every day instead of 3hrs 1 day, then nothing for 2 days in a row anyways.
