Hey Losingit you will be fine just stay positive. My only really rough day was right after surgery and that night in hospital. I had lot of pain and discomfort but they say a lot from air I guess they pump in during surgery. Next full day I was 100% better just real tired and little pain but well worth the trip! Keep the faith!

Thanks! I hope that I am that lucky.

I am two days away from my surgery (26th) and I’m having seconds thoughts. I’m not sure that I want to get surgery anymore

Good luck with yours. I travel to Sydney tomorrow for my surgery as I live 3.5 hours away from the hospital and I need to be there early the next morning. All the normal feelings both worried and happy. I hope I have the commitment to follow though with this lifestyle change the fear of failing is quite strong at the moment. Again I am sure these are just normal feeling.

I love how supported everyone has been and thank you all for sharing your journeys.

No one can tell anyone what to do in there journey but I know I had same feelings. It seemed all the months leading up I was super motivated but when I got down to last week it seemed everything changed. My last week every day had second thoughts and even sitting waiting day of still second thoughts. Myself did go through with surgery and one week out no regrets. Ultimately it’s your body you have to make choice but I know I made right one. Keep the faith!

The surgery I’m not too about. It’s more of the lifestyle.

From reading this board, I've learned that nearly everyone has doubts/misgivings about the surgery immediately before and after, which isn't surprising. The 2 weeks before and month after are pretty rough!

Its big decision for sure, and one that only you can make. And if you chose to cancel, you can always change your mind later.

I ate an Old Bay cheese curl yesterday. On purpose. I made a freaking meal out of it, LOL.

The surgery I’m not too concerned about. It’s more of the lifestyle.

It's a big decision and one many of have struggled with for years before we get here. Giving up what may be our only real coping mechanism can feel like finally cutting ties with a friend or a lover who may never have meant you any harm but certainly didn't mean you any good either. Its hard, it takes commitment, but you come out the other side stronger for it. You are the only one who knows when you've had enough, and that's when you're ready. It's OK not to be ready yet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
