Doing great today--Day 6! The only issue I'm having is that my swallowing is so great, I could easily consume 16oz per hour of liquid, especially if it's black Decaf coffee! I'm on full liquids with and 8fl oz/hour limit. Walking, sipping, eating 74g of Protein per day. It's all going great. Very little/no pain. Only drugs are gabapentin for 1 month for nerve inflammation.

You guys will do great! I only had nausea for a few hours immediately following surgery. Then only 1 small bout with it on day 2 at home. Nothing major though.

So I'm 19 days post surgery & everything is going pretty well. I've lost 31 pounds and for the first time in a long time I'm below 300 pounds. I'm in puree phase and since I'm a fan of cottage cheese and yogurt I'm doing alright. It is bizarre not being hungry I haven't felt the physical sensation of being hungry since surgery. My only complaint is the urgency when it comes to the bathroom, I wish they would have warned us about that in our classes, I mean we were in there for 12 weeks you'd thing they could toss in that everything going in is liquid so it's going to come out as liquid and if you're not careful you're going to be ruining some drawers. Glad everyone is doing well and thoughts and prayers for your recoveries and pending surgeries, Keep it up guys!

Well today is the last day of February and I want to thank, each and everyone for allowing me to hear your stories, share in your success and empathizine with your trials. Today still will be surgery day for a few of you. I know over on the sleeve side SleevedSoulSista is having hers, today. Thank you for making me feel one of your own, even if my tummy is still unbypassed. Perhaps March ,Perhaps April. I have 2 introductory seminars to attend, one on March,9th, one on March 10th. I am certain one will fit me me better. When you have been back-stabbed or lied to, it is difficult to step forward, with full trust. But my God didn't make no junk, I am a good person worthy of the surgery I so earnestly desire. I am a katlady, I will land on all 4 paws and go forward. Look for me around on one of the other month forums, I intend to be a Bariatric Paller until it's finished. Love and Hugs your kakatlady612. [emoji197]

Best of luck, you have demonstrated a perfect display of compassion, empathy and love for so many. I’m sure many others agree, we will be cheering you on, hopefully your journey won’t be too much longer. I’m sure that the heavens are organising the perfect surgeon and the perfect date for you to continue your journey. When things are out of our control, we need to trust and have faith. You have done everything possible. Your time is coming, and I for one will be following your journey. Sending love [emoji177]

Hey y'all! I just saw this in the January Bypass Buddies Thread! (I have a bunch of pals there since that's when I thought my surgery was gonna happen! ;) )

They do a Wednesday Weigh-In! Y'all wanna start one??? Ok, I'll start it here!!

Wednesday Weigh-In:

HW: 287lbs

SW: 222.4lbs

CW: 215.6lbs

Loss: (-6.8lbs) 2weeks post-op

Note: I'm doing great. Still having Constipation issues. Trying to get the train schedule back on-track and running smoothly and on time with great consistency! Bahahahahahahahaaha!!! Right now, Number 9 track has a train blocking the tunnel so schedules are backed up and iffy! Pray for me. Dear God in heaven, pray! ;)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
