It does work for me so far I use the 17 oz Water bottles so with the Water add and one 20 oz Isopure there’s 37oz of liquid. They want 60 grams Protein a day so in first days on Clear Liquids you do the one and a half bottles you will get your 60 Protein and 56 liquid with that alone it helps that only leaves you shy eight onces of daily water requirement

Hello All,

My surgery date [02/20/2018] is approximately 28 hours away and I'm as terrified as I am excited, and then some more. This will be my first surgery of any sort and can't believe I started my "Lifestyle Change Journey" back in October of 2017 and now the day is almost here.

Could use some prayers and words of encouragement right now to help with the anxiety. There's no turning back and I will be spending my day drinking Clear Liquids and doing anything to keep my mind off of it until it's time.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to joining the loser's bench and start living a Happy LIFE!

Congratulations first of all! You will do just fine...I was nervous too and it wasn’t even my first surgery lol! But don’t worry when you get to the hospital they will give you something for the anxiety and it will make it all go away trust me I don’t even remember going into the or after that Medicean. But prayers for you and your big day it will all be worth it!

Policeman2345 if you're a 1st responded thank you for your service. Don't be anxious, look how far you've come on this journey, tomorrow is going to be a day of rebirth for you. They will give you relaxing medication before, the common name for the oral is the Don't give A S**** pill, some people get it in a powdered form under their tongue, some in their IV, don't matter because it all works. You'll drop off into a nice peaceful sleep when you wake up you'll be in the recovery room being attended to by techs and nurses. Some people are uncomfortable, many aren't. When it's time you'll go back to your room. I'd like to tell you they'll let you just lie there and rest, not gonna happen. They will have you up and doing laps around the unit. Nah they aren't being mean, they don't want you developing blood clots in your legs and believe you me you don't want them either. I don't envy you being a guy, Foley catheters are nasty enough,in girls, but a guy.-

Do I have to draw you a picture of it all or can you mentally see it? You will want that bugger REMOVED.

Will it hurt? Well, everybody has a different pain tolerance, one person said it was like being stabbed multiple times, which I guess you really are, another felt bloated, another like too many situps in a row. I'm holding on for my own to my friend Tammy's assesment. She said it wasn't even as bad as the day her 5 year old head-butted her in the belly. He thought he was a Billy goat. See that's why God gave him to her instead of me, I would have amputated his little horn buds before they ever grew. A limb of Satan was Mr Eric Anthony, yes indeed! Slowly each and every day you're going heal, get stronger until you feel better and better. Although there may be stalls along the way you'll lose weight, get thinner and generally be so proud of yourself. Thus ends my little sermon but I hope it helps. Good luck and hugs for tommorrow.

Good luck! I’m 8 days behind you. Surgery date for the sleeve is 28th. I’ve been struggling with my liquid diet. I feel hungry. I think this is the hardest thing I’ve done. Keep busy. That’s what I’ve been trying to do. Also think about how wonderful your going to feel when you can fit into smaller size clothes!

One week post surgery - I am down exactly 10 lbs!!

One tip for those who have recently had, or will have surgery. Start on the stool softeners, Benefiber, Miralax, etc., you will regret it if you don't! (I speak from experience, lol!)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
