Any vapors out there?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone still vapes after surgery? Do you use nicotine? How long did you wait after surgery to start again?

Vaping is just as bad as smoking. Nicotine is extremely dangerous to use after surgery. I wish you would consider quitting!!

You could get an ulcer for sure and trust me you don’t want that.

Plus vaping- it’s just not sexy.

I tried it without nicotine it was absolutely disgusting to me. I sold all my mods and got rid of everything. I don’t feel the need to smoke or vape at all. It’s how you feel. And if someone who has never vaped before tells you to quit just ignore it. But nicotine is extremely dangerous to use after surgery.

It can cause an ulcer. And ulcers are very painful and most of the time will need surgery to remove

I do! I started up again just a few days after surgery. Probably not the best idea, but I'm at 0-3mg.

I've quit smoking by Vaping for two and a half months now and have been slowly trying to wean myself onto 0mg nicotine. The nicotine is bad for you as it affects blood circulation therefor makes it harder for the wound to heal. Vaping is no way near as bad as smoking and people who say it is isn't educated on them enough, so if you used to be a smoker congratulations on making the switch.

Surgery due January 10th 2018

Just want to say first, no judgements here, I smoked. Then went to vaping 4 yrs ago... Vaped for 3 yrs. When I decided to have surgery I quit vaping. Just because they said they will test you all the up to surgery date for nicotene and would not do surgery if they found nicotine. I wanted surgery more than nicotene. Its hard but I completely understand and yes vaping is healthier than smoking . we all have it in our minds if we smoke we won't gain weight well lol we are all here having surgery because we did gain weight lol so don't think that you have to go back to smoking to keep it off ....they told us life change that meant eating right...exercise....not smoking ..ect......becoming that new you. What a reward to give yourself!!!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
