It does ease off. I slept sitting up for about 2 weeks then managed on my back for a bit and was back on my side after 3 weeks. Those first few weeks are hard but rest assured that it does get better

I slept on the recliner too.. for like 5 to 7 days, than move to my bed.. and it was painful and uncomfortable, so what I did was lay a pillow under my right side.. kinda tilting my body to the left.. and playing around found a position that it didn’t bother me “much “ I usually saved my pain killers for bed, but it’s gotten better to be honest I can’t sleep on my right side but prep well, I can sleep on my left side.
Good luck and it will get better.

My surgery is Jan 8th and I'm planning on sleeping in my recliner for as long as it takes.
