Opps I was greedy...and now I am worried!

Recommended Posts

Ok...I am on mushies and I was eating my dinner and I couldn't stop myself I just wanted more and more. I was so hungry.

I had 1/2 of blended casserole, 1/2 cup of green Beans, and 1/2 of blended chili.

On my meal plan I am only suppose to consume 3/4 cup of blended food per meal. I doubled that. I am so full. (FINALLY.)

I don't plan to make a habit of my slip, because I paid too much money for this band.

Can messing up one time cause damage to your pouch? Is there a pouch? Can you stretch it? Did I stretch it?

Did eating this "massive" quanitity of food cause damage to the band?

I was banded on October 3rd. I know there must be a million of these questions asked on the board daily. When I am a vetern bander I will happily answer the newbies overeating question. For now can you please answer mine.

Amy, A one time slip up like that should not cause you any problems. Its doing it often that is bad. Your "pouch" is flexible, but should not be stressed too often. I, while definatly not being a doctor, think you should be fine. I'm sure I will do the same one day. Hope everything else is going good....Dave

I was banded on the first and oh my goodness do I feel my appetite coming back.

Today I have eaten a small cup of yogurt, 1 cup of cottage cheese, 1 cup of chili with some garlic and herb bran crackers, and a small cup of broccoli, bacon and cheese Soup.

I can't wait to get my first fill so I get some restriction. I feel like they are gonna tell me I gained 10 pounds when I go back to the doctor on Nov. 6th!

I know how you feel Debbie, I am not feeling full anymore and have overdone it quite a few times. I'm frustrated because I was doing so well. But I feel I have no restrictions right now. I am getting my first fill tomorrow. I am excited but still a little nervous because my incision/port area is soooo sore still.

I have been around the board and this seems to be a pretty common occurrence (the regain of appetite before 1st fill). I don't want to screw this up. I know the band is a tool and I have to do the work, I just pray tomorrow's fill make a difference.

Carol

Hey Carol--I see you said your port area is still so sore. I don't get my first fill until November 16th (just two weeks post-op today) and my port is also very very very sore.

I thought the soreness would go away before the first fill...

I'm in my 4th week post-op and I'm sore sometimes. Today the weather is very nasty and I'm sore, almost like I'm bruised underneath the port. I'm sure if I took some advils it would feel better, but I'm busy reading these postings to go get some!! LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
