Just over a year - daily food ideas?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Been a loooooong time since I was on here. I got banded Sept 06, and I've lost 30kg (probably more since I've been strength training a lot as well)

Been about 3 months since I was last filled, and just recently I've been:

a. throwing up quite regulalry

b. not losing weight

To help me get back on track, can anyone help remind me what a good days food should look like at this stage?

Best

BRD

a. Are you throwing up every time you eat and did it just start or did it start after the fill?

b. Are you exercising? do you feel restriction..relate back to "a".

If you've just started throwing up that could be an indication of slippage, my advice, if in doubt, call your doctor!

Exercise - plenty

Throwing up is odd - sometimes I'm fine then other days it's horrible - and I can't seem to find a particular food that is a problem.

But really I'm just looking for advice/motivation/reminder about what a day of food should be like

Are you sure that you're not just overeating to the point that you pb?

If you are sure that's not the reason, then I agree with Harley Nana....

Go and get your band checked out...

You might just have tightened up over time

If all is well consider taking the following actions

1. have a few days on fluids, throwing up a lot can irritate you stoma and lead to further throwing up... it's a viscous circle.

2. keep a food diary for a couple of weeks, noting when you are throwing up and exactly what you are eating... It's not revolutionary, I know, but it may show you what you are/aren't doing that's hindering further fat reduction.

Follow the bandster rules:

SaggiJ,

You do know what the bandster rules are regarding meals, don't you???

they are as follows...

1. No drink 30minutes before and 45 minutes after food

2. Eat good quality, solid food that will stay in your pouch and give you satisfaction.

3. Eat you Protein FIRST, then your vegetables.... then if you have room you can eat the carbohydrates!!!!

If you eat the mash first, then you are asking for trouble in the weight loss stakes.....

You also know that it's small bites.... no bigger than 10p piece then chew chew, chew!!! taking larger bites and swallowing them before they're well and truly mushed in your mouth, is asking for trouble, especially when you're tight!

Success depends on following these rules and working with your band, not against it! Come on girl, you know what you should be doing!!!

Taken from a previous post!

Hope that this helps a bit!

Hx

;)

let us know how you're getting on...

Constant pb'ing is horrid, anti social and makes you feel :faint:

Especially if you're no longer losing any weight!

Good luck!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
