For the first time since my surgery, I feel hungry right now. Today, I've eaten roughly what I have been eating the last few days, keeping my Protein and fluids up, but right now I'm just downright super hungry. I've waited to make sure it wasn't head hunger, and it's pretty legit. I'm sure a small Protein meal will do away with it, but it's a "new" feeling post surgery. Has anyone experienced this at all?

I've definitely had "omg i'm starving" hunger feelings, but 4 oz of protein nipped that in the bud. So thankful that I don't need a huge meal to feel full anymore. Let us know how you feel after you have a little protein :)

I will! How many calories are you taking in per day? I feel like I was high today at around 700 (I've met my protein goals), but still hungry. Blerg.

My estimate for the rest of the day, including dinner, is about 850. Here's a pic of my food diary from today!

So, as it turns out, I made some chicken with veggies in tikka masala sauce, and I measured out my 4oz and got all excited, dug in... and ate ONE PIECE of chicken. Like, three bites. FULL. Loving this wacky weight loss journey :)

Had a couple spoons of Peanut Butter and went to bed early. Woke up feeling healthy and happy.

I just went to my soft foods class yesterday and I was surprised they had Peanut Butter on the "no" list - even for soft foods. They said it is too sticky and get stuck. In the past couple weeks, I have used the powdered peanut butter and mixed it with fairlife milk to give me the peanut butter fix. It is not as sticky as real peanut butter, and did not give me any issues thankfully. You can also mix the powder in about anything to get the fix. The nutritionist recommended the powder as well. My wife made sugar free vanilla pudding and put some of the peanut butter powder in it - it came out like peanut butter pudding - very yummy!

It's both! That's MyFitnessPal--there's both an app and a web-based version.

Thanks. I am finding the need to track my Protein intake now that I am transitioning to soft foods and not so easy to just add up the Premiere Proteins for the day through my drinking app.

Absolutely--even the basic version shows you the macros of the food that you're logging. You can scan barcodes easily, and it's just a really great tool. They offer challenges and coupons, and it's another really great support system community over there as well.

What app are you talking about

My Fitness Pal - allows you to easily track food/drink/excercise - put out there by UnderAmour. It is free, or you can pay $9/month for premium (or $99/year).

Me weight is stalling a bit but I'm not too worried about it. Still on pureed food until next Wednesday and I'm sure I'll see the scale move even more once I'm back on soft solid foods. Feeling pretty good other than some nausea and dizziness last night. Had a couple spoons of Peanut Butter and went to bed early. Woke up feeling healthy and happy.
Cheers!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
