EZEKIEL BREAD?????

Recommended Posts

I am almost 7mo. Post op, 5lbs less than my goal and I'm thinking about trying Ezekiel bread.. Sometimes I just want a piece of toast or a half of a pbj sandwhich... Any thoughts or experiences?

I hear lots of people saying that you should wait until the end of your first year before you should re-introduce bread, but I think you are ahead of the game seeing as you've already surpassed your goal weight. To be quite honest, I would have a slice if I wanted it. I would be careful to not have it often, but a slice every once and again shouldn't hurt. You know what you can handle by now. It is a good thing that Ezekiel bread stays frozen. It can last you quite a while.

Congratulations on reaching your goal, and good luck reaching the new one.

Staying away from any form of bread is the best thing you can do for yourself. That includes Pasta and potatoes of any kind.

It’s the best bread out there and will make you fuller sooner than regular bread. It has more Protein in it. I suggest one piece, you’ll be lucky to eat half.

It’s the only bread I buy and aids in weight loss.

My surgeon told me at 6 months to reintroduce whole grains. That my body needs them. I was told I could have whole grain bread, just a slice a couple times a week. The best bread I found with the proper ingredients and good stuff that was healthy was Dave’s Killer Bread Thin sliced organic. It’s got Protein, Fiber and alot of Omega 3’s. It tastes good too. My NUT approved toast as soon as I went to solid foods. Limited amounts of it, and it has to be very dry. Just be aware of the calories you're taking in and you'll be fine.

The problem with not toast is that it can as much as double in size in your stomach. So think about what that means. You eat until you're full, and then slowly the bread begins to grow in your sleeve -- it's going to be uncomfortable, might even hurt. To avoid this, I suggest eating it slowly, or eating a VERY SMALL AMOUNT and NOT until you're full.

My family finally is willing to eat something better for them. Raisin Ezekial bread. So happy.

Tastes good to me too, but I'm not at goal yet.

I've tried the Monk Fruit granulated powder. I can't say it's my favorite, to me it does have an aftertaste, but it's tolerable.

FYI, the agave sweetners are still high in fructose and carbs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
