How long did gas pain last?

Recommended Posts

I had my vsg on 10/20 and was released 10/22. Gas pains are still very real and painful! I've walked, drank, used gas-x strips, passed gas...any other suggestions? I'm hoping to sleep through the night without being woken up from gas. Also, how long did your incision pain last? I would love to get off the pain mess, but don't think I'm quite there yet.

Personally for me I had my vsg on the 18th, it's now the 23rd and I still have gas pains. I have walked, taken stuff etc...still there. If I could sleep on my stomach I could probably get it out quicker but it's too painful. Incision pain is still there, but only mild to me during the day, it's different at night...i only take a pain pill before I go to bed to help me sleep through the gas and pain. Everyone is different is what I keep hearing.

Everyone is different, yes. Ahead of surgery three years ago, I was told I'd have gas. I packed plenty of those GasX strips to take to the hospital. I had the surgery & then... nothing. I waited for that gas to show up but it never did. Everyone is different. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
