December Sleevers??

Recommended Posts

I have a date of Dec. 18th. Excited but very nervous. Can't believe I'm going to do this- yet I've tried so many other things over the past several years. Worried about telling my family members (sisters, etc). because I think they won't want me to do it.
Does anyone know if you can take your regular medications the night you are in the hospital? I take daily preventative meds for Migraines.

I’m Dec 18 too!

oh dang that stinks because of someone else's mistake. :( were they able to fix it in time?

I just got the call this morning. My surgery is on for tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I've been really anxious about it for the past two weeks.

Yours is outpatient? Yikes. I've never heard of that. Is the "MN" in your screen name Minnesota? That's where I'm from. Can I ask what hospital system? I went through Allina Health.

hi all - great reading about my fellow December sleevers doing well so far after surgery or getting ready for surgery. :)

I had my surgery last Thursday on the 7th and went home from the hospital on the 8th...all went pretty well. I will say it looks like I have had a LOT more bruising than others but otherwise everything seems pretty routine. Did a lot of walking and made sure I moved around in the hospital and since I've been home...got through that Water nausea period and the nausea is mostly gone and the pain/soreness gets better each day.

Today is the first day though that I'm very low energy as if this 6 oz of Protein Shake is not enough sustenance as I also feel very hungry..nutritionist just said I could up another .5 oz at each meal - hope that helps. I'm down 12 lbs so far since surgery.

Good luck to all ready to go in! :)

I just got home earlier today. I'm getting nausea when I sip Water, but haven't thrown up yet.

I get killer pain on my right side under the rib cage when I breathe in. Anyone else experience this?

Might be gas pains you’re feeling from the laparoscopic surgery. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about pains in that area, up to the neck & shoulders.

It's gas pain. Get up and walk around. The only way to get rid of it is to walk. I am 2 weeks out and still have it at times but not as much as before. It just takes a little time to go away. Do you have nausea meds? Usually they send you home with some. I had nausea with Water too and adding crystal light for flavor helped alot.

Was able to get through my first night home. (I woke up about every 2 hours having to pee.) good news is that the pain in my ribs is gone.. Hoping it doesn't come back. Bad news is that Water is still making me nauseated. I just took some anti nausea meds they sent me home with and am going to add Mio to my water to see if that helps.

Last night and so far today Water hurts to drink. Not. A good nights sleep either. Every 30-45 minutes someone was in doing something or some box was being obnoxious. Still having gas pain, done several laps around the floor, but to go for another set. Anyone had to do that breathing exercise?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
