Sensitive question about ladies time of the month

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question, I'm 4 weeks post op and should have had my time of the month but it hasn't come. Just wondering has any one else had similar experiences.

I would have been "regular" enough before surgery.

Sorry for raising an awkward topic!

Regards to all

Aunt Flo's visitation schedule gets messed up for pretty much everyone postop. She can come early, late, heavy, light, and sometimes non-existent. No worries! She'll get back on schedule by 6 months or a year postop when the weight loss slows.

I haven't had a period in years due to my IUD. I have been spotting for the past three weeks since surgery. My surgeon says it's normal with rapid weight loss and can go either way for people!

My surgeon told me it can be irregular for at least 3 months post op. If you're really worried, it's always a good idea to call your surgeon's office or your obgyn's office. Even if someone tells me everything is fine, I'd rather have an answer than be worried. :)

Thanks for the advice. I suppose I was regular ish up to now so it's thrown me off but I'll just add it to the list unexpected side effects from surgery.

I'll sit tight and enjoy the time I'm free of aunty flo!!

Mine have been irregular since surgery. First one was light. Second one was heavy and lasted for 9 days! Third one is so far very light.
I am not concerned as I know my body is dealing with a lot of changes.

I never ever have mine because I take my BC back to back with no gaps. Was sleeved on the 23rd and it sort of started on the 22nd and definitely did the night after surgery. I still have it and I'm taking my pills. I also have tons of mouth ulcers related to my autoimmune disease. I think my body is just totally thrown off and pissed at me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
