Help!bad pain that went away after i puked

Recommended Posts

Im 5 weeks out of surgery and have been doing great, maybe a lil too good lol. There has been about 4 times where i feel like theres something stuck in that area where your ribs meet . the pain can progress up my esophagus. Tonight i ate 2 ounces of rotisserie chicken and i could feel pain coming again, except this was worse than other times and to the point where i got nauseated. after 10 minutes of this i simply made myself puke and i instantly felt better. One time i do fine/perfect with a certain food then next time i eat it, this might happen. Im trying to take smaller bites, chew food better but as many know its a hard habit to break but I AM TRYING. Whats some of your opinions on this. Plus first time ive had foamies too since surgery. just makes no sense to me cause i ate beef Jerky 2 days ago and this didnt happen.

You are eating too fast and not chewing enough. Slow down. Cut one tiny piece of food. Put it in your mouth. Chew 25-40 times. Put your fork down. Do not cut a second piece. Wait 40-60 seconds before taking your next bite. That's why you feel like you are going to puke.

Welcome to our world or I should say my world. I am 4 years out and I still do exactly that. My body doesn't seem to know that 1 more bite might be too much!! LOL I have started eating way too fast. I don't enjoy eating and sometimes it feels like a hassle. If you slow down and chew chew and you still have this going on you might want to tell your DR. Strictures are the pits but they really are an easy fix. They just do a Endoscope with a Balloon to open it back up. They are somewhat like scar tissue and close off your stoma food and the Water felt like the food just sat on top of my tummy. I'm happy things are going so well for you!!

I agree.. a stricture could be getting started. Let your surgeon know what has been happening.

Hopefully it's nothing... good luck!

The transition to hard foods such as chicken and steak can be difficult. There is no need to rush things, just take your time.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
