I did need extra pillows for the first couple weeks, but I would lay on my side with my belly supported by a pillow, and it worked well.

I had surgery on 8/16 and sat up in the hospital. Last night I came home and laid on one pillow. It appears the gas is coming out faster.

I am currently having this problem. Since being out of hospital I can't lay flat and if I do I wake up in the middle of the night and no matter how I rearrange myself I can't get comfortable!

What i've being doing is putting 3-4 pillow to prop me up to the same position as the hospital bed, I had no issue sleeping in hospital! Only since i've been home :(

I'm hoping to get a good night sleep soon

I am 1 week post op and still having trouble sleeping as well. I have a wedge pillow I use to prop me up b/c I can't lay flat. I also have another pillow under my back. I have been able to get a few hours in on my side but I use 7-8 pillows!! I know I know. I use the wedge, one on wedge, one under head, one supporting belly (kinda under it) one behind me supporting back and one between my knees...

I cant wait for sleep!!

Instead of taking the prescription medication for pain I asked my doctor if I could take Tylenol PM. It knocks me out and that was the only way I could sleep. I will be 1 week post op tomorrow.

I've been sleeping on my side since day 2 post op. Surgeon said it was fine and it relieved a lot of pain for me. Now I'm 6 days post op and sleep however. If you shouldn't be lying a certain way your body will let you know. If you can lay on your side and it doesn't hurt then you're fine

I was sleeved 8/9 and I have been sleeping in the bed any position except on my stomach since 8 days post op, I still have a little pain where they took the stomach out. Taking Tylenol pm helped a lot or taking the RX pain medicine a few hrs before bed then at bedtime taking half a dose of OTC sleep aid

I actually was sleeping on my side in the hospital. I did not have the bed flat, it was raised and I was propped up on about 5 pillows between my head, under my abdomen, behind my back and between my legs. It was the only was I could sleep.

At home I slept on my back for about 2 weeks with pillows under my knees and behind my head. Without the bed being elevated I couldn't sleep on my side until about 2 weeks post op. It was a good 5-6 weeks before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach as I did pre surgery.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
