I have become quite a gym rat haha! It's a great addiction to have. In fact with working late and having errands I missed tonight and I feel terrible for it. Wednesday and Sundays are my "rest days". But I love the gym now.

Seems like I wrote that myself! Although Wed and Sundays are my rest days too, lol, I missed Tuesday and so I was going to go Wed and I missed that too!!! LOL Back at it yesterday and definitely tonight and tomorrow.

Quick question how is your eating?
I'm thinking of starting an exercise regimen at home but sometimes my eating is not so good. Any tips?
I'm also 3 months post op.

Amazing! I am on my first week in the gym too! I used the elliptical machine for the first time and love it, even though I can't stay up there long. "The race is not given to the swift or the strong but to the one who endures to the end." #PowerUp[emoji95]

Any suggestions? I am struggling to make gym going a habit. I enjoy it when I go but struggle to keep going.

Also have any suggestions as to what works best while There? I feel lost there too lol.

When I go to the gym I get my cardio in first so that it's done and out of the way. I start with the elliptical or treadmill on incline. I do at least 1-1.5 miles on one of those. Then I move to weights for a little bit alternating arms and legs on different days. After 15-20 mins of the heart rate slowing down some I step it up with some dumbbells doing overhead press with squats at a decent pace. I try to keep my heart rate up when doing those and I alternate squats, lunges and curtseys at a moderate pace.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
