The happy dance posts that come a day or two after they have bullied someone off the board are also pretty disturbing. I recall one after Dee and Vicki left where one of them actually posted 2 gone 1 to go and the rest chimed in. Speaking of eaten alive this thread where Ron gets hammered by LBT regulars is good for a giggle.

I remember that thread. I was pretty damn disgusted, so it was a very good thing that I had already had my account deleted. People must think that everyone reading the thread is completely stupid, that they don't realize that every freakin' person knows who and what they are talking about. My god, it's shocking how immature women in their '40s, '50s, and '60s can be. Dee-lightful? Two down, one to go? Jesus, I thought I left that behind when I left kindergarten. I'm surprised that they haven't brought out "neener, neener, neener" and "I know you're ugly, but what am I" yet. I'm almost afraid to say it, because that's probably what will come out of their mouths next.

In reality, it's the mods for that board that amaze me. Either they are supremely stupid and probably don't have enough brain cells to chew gum and walk at the same time, or they're Sandy's patsies. I vote for both, actually, since she's still around and breaking their terms of service after so many people complained about her.

Tips to win online arguments.

(Yeah, that's totally un-PC, but hey, you get the idea and I'm not the originator. )

Damn, Wheetsin! Those are REGULAR behaviors on OH! That list is amazingly funny, thanks for posting the link.

It did miss the slams and attacks for not agreeing with the clique. Everything else, very familiar.

I didn't even care enough about this topic to read it all.

My opinion is that when people start acknowledging the truth, as opposed to defending their positions, some progress might be made, but I am not holding my breath.

We are definitely in the "get friendly" phase right now!

It will never happen. At least with a few but with future people at least now they are aware and can make a decision based on fact vs. clique. From there it is up to them.

All that is happening now is a desparate attempt to prove that they were somehow "Right".

In essence, they KNOW they were wrong, but pride will not allow them to acknowledge that in front of the entire world.

They are worried about looking like fools and suckers for the line of B.S. that they bought, hook, line & sinker.

1. Get friendly

Always refer to your opponent by his/her first name. Your messages will seem warm and friendly, despite the rabid ferocity of their content. After a few exchanges, begin to use a corruption of your opponent's name - begin with "William", then change to "Billy", then change to something like "Billy-Boy". Women don't enjoy having their names shortened either, so make sure that "Mrs. Elizabeth C. Osbourne-Smythe PhD, QC" is always addressed as "Lizzy".

Absolutely.

Not much surprises me about that board.

Maybe the fact that some of the people who were obviously duped believe that by coming to this board they can somehow diminish their responsibility for their own behavior, or somehow support their own behavior as being above-board, when most people would recognize it for what it was.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
