I'm not surprised to hear this as you are in the very early stages of recovery. None of those things are unusual in the first month or so post-op but I'd definitely recommend that you give your medical team a call so that your concerns can be fully addressed.

being exhausted is very common since you're not getting many calories. Dizzyness might also be related to dehydration. Are you getting enough fluids?

I had my sleeve one day after you. I am also struggling with being overly tired. I just start my purée soft food hoping that might help with more of a variety of food to eat.

I wish I could have food. I can only have applesauce and pudding as "food" as I can't have creamy Soups or yogurt... bad dairy problems now :(

Everyone is different so if your doing everything right then it's fine have you talked to your surgeon about it

Yes. He just gave me more meds for nausea. I told him I'm having a hard time getting in enough food, and he said "I'll think about moving you to solids". I have 1 1/2 weeks until I can have solids unless he moves me forward. Just nervous I won't be able to hold them down either.

Hey! Wanted to reach out because our stats are super similar. I was sleeved 7/7 so I'm 6 days post-op.
HW- 230
SW-223
CW - today will be the first day I step on the scale since surgery!
GW - 135
Height 5'5", age 28

I'm also pretty exhausted all day. I try to go for a few short walks around my neighborhood every day, but they exhaust me. When I was walking today (nothing crazy, I wouldn't even call it a brisk walk), I checked my pulse and it was up to 160. I know I have to be dehydrated. I'm trying so hard to get my nutrition right--I'm up to about 50 grams of Protein daily and about 45-50 oz of liquids. It's just so hard for me to get more in. I feel like I'm nauseous half way through the day from constantly drinking. My pee isn't super dark or anything, it looks fine, but I'm just totally sapped of energy and small things make me tired--especially climbing stairs. I'm worried I'm gonna like pass out or something if I do much more because of dehydration :/. So I totally understand where you're coming from. I have my 1 week follow up appointment with my surgeon today, so I'm going to see what he has to say!

You're doing much more than me! It seems I'm extremely heat sensitive now :(

I hear you I am too! The humidity really gets to me. I think we are just not as well hydrated as before surgery so it's harder for our bodies to handle. I talked to my surgeon today and told him about my heart rate when walking and he told me I need to dial it back a bit and increase my Water to at least 64 oz a day. So I'm going to rest more and try my hardest to drink more--which won't be easy! I'm just always afraid I'm not doing enough and that I'm gonna screw myself up in some way. But clearly I'm doing just fine. I lost 10 pounds at my appointment today and I'm 6 days post op. We can do this!! It's not easy but it will get easier as time goes on--I just hold on to that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
