Stace,

We will pray for your kitty.. put him in Gods hands and trust.. Just remember as you are about to take this huge step that the enemy will do everything he can to shake you up so he can reak havoc with your fears.. lay your burdens down on him and keep focused on Him right now.. he knows your heart and how much you love your cat. trust him that in the end.. no matter the outcome he is worthy to be trusted.

will be praying for you weds..

love,

I just found this site and am looking forward to your support and supporting others.

I am having lap band surgery soon, although I don't know the date yet. My insurance has approved it - PTL It has been long prayerful journey. I am ready for an active life again.

Glad to see others in the same place.

God Bless:cool2:

I don't post very often but I read the posts everyday and pray at least once for every request. Long lasting marriages are a blessing from God. I am only 40 so I can't boast that many years of marriage but we have been married 21 years. I would appreciate your prayers over the next few weeks. I am a homeschool mom of a 13 yos and 16 yo special needs daughter and a one-day-per-week Upper Level math teacher (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Advanced math). I am having the surgery on Friday. My classes start of Monday and enrollment is down this year but I still have 4 classes. Both of my children are starting in other classes at the one day school as well and my son has never taken classes except from mom. We are going out of town over Labor Day to visit family. BUT The biggie is that my husband is leaving for a one year deployment on 9/5. We have lots of shopping and other things to do to get him ready as well as trying to finish up home improvement projects that I started over the summer. I am SO excited about the surgery but also scared as I am sure most of you understand. Please send up some prayers for us as we make this journey. We have really prayed and feel that the decisions we have made are the right ones with God.

In His hands!

Will certainly keep you in my prayers. My husband served almost 22 yrs in the USAF including a tour in VietNam when we had three children 3 & under, so I understand deployment completely! And you have quite a few other things going on. God Bless You!!

tutornmom...I will certainly hold you and your family in prayer with all the changes at home and for your surgery. While everything may seem overwhelming now, know that God is always in control...and His plan is always for our good.

hi everyone...well psych eval. done and approved, dietician done. I'm keeping my pre=surg appts. because God hasn't shut these doors. Good news is my bone scan is unchanged except now shows my new L knee. The oncology appointment is next Tuesday & that will determine whether my 8/30 lap surgery will have to be postponed. Prayer is our strongest defense against the enemy...and every battle belongs to the Lord. Thank you all for being here. MarilynC

Tutornmom, my family and I will keep your family in our prayer as well. PMCFARM, keep it up. While we're lifting up prayer, I ask that you lift up my gall bladder surgery I just had yesterday. I found out last week or the week before, I had gall stones. It seems my weight loss caused the gall stones. My doctor, who also did my lap band, did share he took out 2 cc's of Fluid. It's been about a month and a half since I've had a fill. I've gained about 3 pounds due to lack of exercise. Right now, I'm a full time husband, dad, employee, and student. Without health issues, it's already a challenge to find time to exercise. I prefer bicycling with my wife and son. Due to the the gall stones, I've been laid up and now behind in my school work. The good news is I only have about 2 and half weeks left of this school session and then I get a week off. That's usually when I can try to start to catch up on my lost exercise time by bicycling. The other good news is the weather is starting to cool off, which makes it better for a good ride.

Life is gonna get busy again and since I'm laid up and the pain meds are starting to kick in, I thought I'd share.

Please recall the joke:

A man was in a flood sitting on the roof of his house. Along came a boat and a helicopter. To both he said, "go away, the Lord will save me". So the man drowns and he's in heaven and he asks the Lord why He didn't save him. And the Lord says, "I sent you a boat and a helicopter, what more did you want?"

So, I looked at the surgery this way. It's a tool that the Lord has provided for me. It's up to me to use or to not use it. I'm 12 days in and I don't feel guilty in the least.

Meanwhile, in hospital, I was banded the same day as another in my group who was recovering next door. His mother came to see me. Thelma is her name and all she talked about was what a gift the Lord has given. Both I and her son, Philip, were doing extremely well (I asked the doc). When she found out I was Christian, she felt free in saying that I had angels all around me, watching me and taking care of me.

Both Philip and I are 300+, had zero pain in recovery, and surrounded by angels.

Deu 25:15 [but] you shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shall you have: that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God gives thee.

Who is to say what tool the Lord will give for you to use? If I needed heart surgery, I don't go to bed and pray for a healing and then die. I would pray the Great Physician lead my to the right physician and guide his hands.

So what happens when you have friends who say that you aren't trusting in the Lord? or you are bypassing the Lord and losing the weight under your own strength?

Well these are either skinny people who don't know what it's like to be obese or morbidly obese; or large people who are drinking too much milk instead of eating the meat of the word and are being held hostage by what they don't understand.

If any Christian goes to a dentist to have a cavity fixed, are they're hypocrites if they are the same who keep lapbanding from you for you to repair your cavity?

Hey thanks alot for those encouraging words, they really helped me! I am 5 days away from surgery and feeling a little nervous as well as in question of whether this is 100% the right thing to do. The example you use about the man on the roof really made a lot of sense.

Thanks for your prayers! Surgery went well. I had to be at the hospital almost 2 hours away at 7 a.m. and was home by about 4 p.m. I am sore and loving the pain meds but doing good.

I will send a prayer up for the sister.

I love that flood story. We have all been in that same position and it is a great reminder.

In His hands!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
