I have been the same weight for this entire week despite following the eating plan 100%. Has anyone experienced this? Reasons? Suggestions? Advice?

It's called "the 3 week stall", happens to almost everyone during the first month. You are doing nothing wrong.. the scale just doesn't move for a week or two.

Stalls will happen regularly on your journey. And you'll notice your weight will fluxuate a bit too. Scale going up by a pound or three is normal. It soon goes back down.

I am experiencing the same thing. My surgery was 5/24 as well. I went for my 10 day and had lost 18 pounds from my pre op visit on the 17th. I have been fluctuating between 232 and 230 all week....I don't understand it either, as I have followed the diet to a T...It's frustrating, as I am expecting not to gain every day like I am.

Google "three week stall." Right now, your body is desperately trying to heal. Stick to your plan, meet your Protein and Water goals, walk when you can, and stay off of the scale. The weight will eventually start coming off.

And get used to the stalls. I have learned that nothing about post-op weight loss is linear. It is frustrating, I know, but if you just trust in the process and do exactly what you are supposed to do all of the time, you will be successful.

Good luck!

Thanks. I'm actually only 17 days post op. In your opinion (& I will do the google search), could the "3 week stall" occur just after 2 weeks?

Think long term and don't get stressed about what's happening now. Your system went through hell and is unpredictable now.

I'm with you. Only I'm 15 days. Lost the first week. Now nothing since. But I'm guilty of not drinking my Water. So I'm going to try doing that. I never measured myself so idk if I'm losing inches. Clothes are lose. So I'm sure I am. I've been reading all about the 2 and 3 week stalls. So I'm trying not to freak out.

Yes, for me the scale didn't move the entire second week after surgery. Now it's moving again. Just stick to your eating plan, try to move if you can, and the weight will resume coming off.

scale is bs right now for me too...up a pound then down. I've official told my scale to kiss my ass at the moment bc it's my nemesis this week. Also I have had zero nausea or pain since surgery but everything I'm trying today is causing belching n pain mid shoulder blades. Don't understand it but I guess the good go with the bad.

I would stop weighing everyday if it stresses you out. As long as you are following your plan you will start losing again. Focus on NSV such as looser clothing, less painful joints, much smaller grocery bill....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
