Had VSG now Gastric Bypass in three days

Having gastric bypass this Monday the 12th. I had a vertical sleeve 5 1/2 years ago. Mainly becuase 2/3 of my stomach was up through my diaphragm , between my lungs geaded for my heart. He had to do a sleeve in order to get my stomach back in its place without destoying my diaphragm. The doctor could not put the mesh on to prevent another hiatial hernia because of all the stitches in my diaphragm, so I now have a small one again, and my acid is completely out of control, and also have a small trace of Barretts Esophagus. My only option to stop this horrid constant acid is gastric bypass. I have everything ready for my post op. Had a successful recovery from my sleeve. Not scared and very optiimistic. I have the best surgeon I could possiby have, and that I know cuz he saved my life when he did my sleeve. I lost 75 pounds with the sleeve. I realize that the restriction is ,much worse with the RNY than the sleeve, but I hope I get through it as well as I did last time. Not looking forward to the gas pains in my shouder though!

You'll do great! Congrats!

I am considering the gastric bypass following the sleeve 6 years ago.. no complications from the sleeve at all., however, regained my weight. Any comments or suggestions ?

good luck to you! im also a sleever (11-12-13) and will be having a revision to RNY on 7-17-17 due to acid. I lost 107lbs with the sleeve, got pregnant right after hitting goal. daughter is almost 2 now and I have no restriction and have put on nearly 50 lbs. excited for the bypass and also not looking forward to those horrid gas pains!

Why are you considering it? Do you also have problems with acid?
