In Week 5 and I have NO Energy

I had sleeve surgery on May 8th and I have struggled with lack of energy since the beginning. I emailed with my dietitian and she says that my 600 to 800 calories are not enough, that I need to get in 1,000 each day. I weight also seems to be stuck for the last 5 days or so...help!!!

I had surgery on May 15th and I am getting in about 750 calories a day and my energy is fine. How much protein are you getting? My nut has us shooting for 65-80g. I should be at 800 calories in the next week or two.

My NUT wants me to get about 70 grams a day of protein and about 64 ounces of water.

1000 a day is a lot for that early out. I was 600-800 for several months, as I recall.

your protein intake seems fine, although we discovered early on with mine (through blood work) that I malabsorb it, so I had to start shooting for 100 grams a day. They'll be able to tell that on your labs.

I remember being tired a lot the first couple of months. It may just be a combination of healing from major trauma and the limited calories.

as for not losing weight, you're probably in the infamous "three week stall" (it doesn't always happen at three weeks out, but certainly within the first 4-6 weeks post-surgery. Almost everyone goes through that. Just stick to your plan and it will break)

Also in week five. Last week I was drained of energy but this week is better. I am doing 600-700 calls per day 60g protein and 64oz of water. From what I've read it's normal to have these low energy times.

Your weight loss is great btw! I'm down 25lbs but the scale is moving slower the past week for sure.

what everyone else said - this is probably normal. But, I will add that my energy was very low around 4-5 weeks out and my NUT had me add in an iron supplement. That really helped me quite a bit so you might ask about adding iron or increasing it if you're already taking a supplement.
