But when are you getting your Water in?

My surgeon expects me to get 64+ ounces of water in daily... I can't imagine doing that before suhoor and after iftaar.

I feel guilty... But I truly don't think I'd be able to get into ketosis unless I followed the diet my nutritionist/ surgeon provided.

I'm based in New Zealand and we're fasting slightly less than 12 hours and its been relatively easy here to get the water in as from 5:15 pm til 5:45 am I am able to drink water. So I have a glass every hour until ten and I have two when I get up in morning with shake before starting fast.

Assalam Alaikum,

Was anyone able to fine halal sugar free jello? I cant seem to find it anywhere.

Fat free doesn't necessarily mean sugar free.

Assalam Alaikun every one. I came home 2 days ago home feel better already. All body is so much pain alhamhulila much batter best wish for everyone

Walaikum Assalam! Its good to know everything went okay. Alhamdulillah. May Allah grant you shifa and a quick recovery.

Salams!
I'm wondering why my doctor doesnt have me starting the liquid pre-op diet earlier. My surgery date is June 28, and I was told to start it June 21, so one week before.

Your BMI provably isn't that high. I didn't do any liquid diet pre-op. They request it to shrink the size of your liver so it's easier to do the operation.

For fasting, you really need to listen to your body, God is merciful and grants us mercy if we physically cannot do what we are supposed to. Your body is not in a regular state and you need to listen to what it needs. I had the VSG op around 10 months ago and there's no way I could have fasted during the liquid stage. Alhamdulillah I am fasting now, it is difficult but doable and I try my best to get my protein and water in. Allah ghafooron ra7eem and fasting is supposed to help us and not starve us. Listen to your body and if you cannot fast, there's no shame in it.
