Hello all,

I haven't been on BP often in the past few months but I decided to check in tonight & I saw this thread-fate.

I've regained 13# (I think). I have to get on the scale tomorrow to confirm but I'm joining too! I need the group support.

I used to to work out 4 days a week but now I work out only two days. bread and Cookies have crept back in. Portions have also increased. At my lowest I wore a size 10 and now I'm a 14 (I hate writing that number down but It's my reality).

My ultimate goal is to be a size 10 again. My short term goal is a size 12. Menopause, genes and age will make it difficult for me to maintain anything smaller and I've decided I don't want to-I like how I looked when I was a size 10.

Good luck to us all!

We got this Kathy! I try to walk/jog 5 days a week. I am more in the habit forming phase right now as I have to talk myself into doing it everyday. I think with the support we will be able to do this!

I'm with you all! Dealing with regain due to some highs and lows which resulted in a return to poor eating habits- snacking/grazing/ bigger portions/ less quality choices/being passive and not paying any attention to what I eat/ drink. Plus increased wine drinking and less exercise. After a few false starts I began in earnest last week, and have been doing well: no wine & making good food choices... did a hike up to potato chip rock here in SD on Saturday and a shorter easier one today.... I was skimming a size 10/12 at my lowest and I'd like to get back to a comfy size 12 which I feel like I could reasonably maintain... anyway I look forward to supporting everyone and benefiting from the same :)

Hello All,

Glad I found this thread. I have also gain a little weight back and scared that I'm going to regain all my weight back. I have gain 10 pounds because of careless eating; I am a known stress eater. I know if I do not take control now, my regain will only get worse. I recently gave up chewing gum and notice that I have been substituting my gum chewing for carbs. I will try my hardest to start on Tuesday; it's going to be hard because we are having chips and all kinds of dips at work. I recently bought a treadmill and did great for about 2 weeks :(. I think having a support group that knows what I am going through would benefit me in my new start.

Thanks in advance!

Buy Quest chips and keep them in your desk at work. You can eat those when everyone else is eating regular chips. They are 130 calories, 20g of Protein, and 2 net carbs.

Walmart only stocks 2 flavors usually, at least around here. I know Texas Walmarts are well Texas sized so they might carry more. GNC has more flavors. Salt and Vinegar tastes the best because the flavoring isn't synthetic. You can order them on Amazon with Amazon prime.

I'm in. I gained almost 30lbs myself and have been beating myself up. It took me a while to realize that doing that won't change anything. Instead I need to accept it and move forward and fix it. I know what I need to do so it's time I stop with the excuses and just do it!

Good morning friends!

Just checking in, how is everyone doing? I just got back from my walk/jog and happy I went. It's a mental struggle to get to it but I've decided it's just something I am going to get up and do no matter how I feel. I want to get to the point that I like exercise (which has never happened in my life). Little changes will add up, of that I am sure. I am trying not to be obsessed with the scale and have decided that I will not step on it until Monday when I weigh in. I am trying to change my mindset and create lasting lifestyle changes verses just trying to get skinny. I have gone back to the basics of:

1) Protein first
2) Water water water
3) no drinking 30 mins before and after meals
4) exercise
5) no snacking

I am committed and know we can all do this. We will have ups and downs but please don't disappear if you feel defeated, let's make the decision to support one another and see each other through losing this regain. Praying and rooting for each and every one of you

May God bless you and keep you

Maricela, good plan. Thank you too for your positivity. You are right and we can do this. It is hard to stand up and say we have fallen off the wagon and sometimes even harder to get back on plan. We need to take small steps and if today is better than yesterday (no matter how small) then we are winning. Yesterday was a winning day because I drank more Water than the day before. Today no Cookies have passed my lips - winning!

I have a questions, what size is your Bougie? I'm wondering if that's the reason that we experiencing weight gain. I know that I requested my doctor to use a smaller size for me. I believe my size is a 30.

Well guys I'm definately going to participate and I will support you guys but I'm currently on staycation and not making the best choices. We have out of town guest and there is a lot of activities and eating out involved.

I have started my mornings off right with either a small omlette w/veggies or a Protein Shake for Breakfast. But, lunch and dinners have been tough and with no real exercise.

i am so scared to get on the scale, I feel the "struggle" to button my pants and I'm not as comfortable in them -ugh! But, my guest leaves on Sunday morning and I plan on working out immediately and getting 100% back on plan. Meanwhile, I'm trying to "mindfully" eat.

To those of you struggling....you are not alone. One meal, one day at a time.

To those who had a good day, great job!

Oh, by the way, I don't know my bougie size, I'm sure it's played a role in not reaching my goal weight but my doctor mentioned something about the possible complications w/going too small, so I don't believe I have a small one. He told me not to worry about the size and just follow the plan. In truth, it's my failure in following the plan that's got me in this position.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
