Did any one else feel nausea a few days after their surgery? I woke up once last night and once the night before feeling like I was going to puke. I woke up this morning feeling miserable.

I am still on liquids - slimfast, broth and whatever else I want that is non-carbonated.

Are you both still taking your pain meds? That could be the cause. Also, residual effects can last for a few days from the anesthesia.

Yup. I had a feeling the pain meds had a lot to do with it. While I feel a lot better overall, I still have soreness, especially when I stand straight up. But as for the nausea, I just moved to full liquids and had some pureed potato leek cream Soup, and it's freaking amazing...... oh, and so far, no nausea. ;)

Since I got home Tuesday afternoon, I've been on Clear Liquids, specifically Water, chicken broth, sf Jello, sf popsicles, and probably most of all, a 50/50 water/apple juice mix.

Starting today, I've moved on to full liquids. I had a little sf chocolate pudding, but after just a few little spoonfuls, I felt like that was enough. I also had a little applesauce, but with all the apple juice I'd been drinking, I needed something in the non-apple family.

Luckily, my wife made a delicious potato leek cream Soup that she blended the hell out of, to make sure there were no potato chunks or fibrous leek pieces. I didn't have that much, but it was delicious and filled me up for several hours now. Not sure what to have next. Maybe Tomato juice. My wife is also going to make a cream of cauliflower soup, cuz she's awesome that way. ;)

I had that for a MONTH.

UPDATE: I was taking Darvocet every 4 hrs per Dr. instructions, and was very nauseous for the past few days. Today, I haven't taken one since about 12 hours ago, and the nausea has been much better (though not completely gone).

Hi,

My surgery was Oct 3 and I too have been having nausea. My mother is freaking out and wants me to call the Lap Band Center, of course. I think maybe it's just normal for some people. I have been only taking in liquid as well. I tried some yogurt but it was a disaster. Does this feeling go away?

I was banded Oct 5th. I started out on full liquids and I ate yogert with no problem. I haven't had any nausea since I left the hospital. I would agree with your mom, teaston, call the center. They will be able to answer your questions.

Yes, I too was nauseated for the first seven days after surgery.....after that no problems. Mine wasn't the pain meds either, because I thought it might have been them, so I didn't take any after day 3 but still felt nauseated. It will get better, though it may seem like forever...LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
