How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec

My surgeon called in a script of Prilosec for after surgery. For those that were prescribed this, how soon did you begin taking after surgery? Thanks!

Wow Aleve, I thought we can't take that after surgery.

It's on my list of meds they don't allow after surgery too.

You dont swallow it. You unloosen the capsule and put it in a spoonful of yogurt.

Idk if this is normal but my surgeon is ok with me taking pills. It seems odd since my popsicles and yogurt can't have lumps. I have so many pills to take. This outta be fun!

Idk, my surgeon recommended Aleve because I would only have to take 4 a day (am/pm). It's crazy how everybody's post care instructions are a little different. Fir example, I'm not allowed to take any vitamins -- not even a vitamin patch -- until I get my 2 week ok from the doctor and I was put on full liquids the day I left the hospital.

NSAIDs will cause issues with the lining your stomach- especially if it gets stuck in your staple line- definitely shouldn't be taken for at least three months after surgery- my doctor didn't allow vitamins either until week 3

I was told Aleve could cause an ulcer and to stay away. I'm on Xarelto anyway so I can no longer take it.
