Wow! That's awesome!

I to have tried more praying lately when I was stressed before the surgery & have been walking since the band.

I was craving Peanut Butter earlier & I was reason why I should be able to have it - it's smooth, & soft & no chewing needed - etc. LOL... I started walking & it did help.

I will try to find the book.

Thanks again!!

Darkling! it's good to hear from you! So you're banded now - that's great! I've been away from the board for about a week or so and I've missed it. So glad you are posting - hope you are feeling okay.

I've been a very bad girl this past week. Stressed so hard getting the house ready for Thanksgiving and everyone coming and getting the food ready and all the running around done - got to get back to business this week! That's why I came back to the board -for encouragement.

Love this place...

Hi DFW, I am getting banded 12/06/07 at Southwest Surgical Center in Hurst by Dr Robert Snow. Doing fine on the liquid diet. occasional hunger but nothing bad. I guess I am so hyped to get the band I already don't care about eating. (hmmm, there goes that mental part!)

I am also going to Dr. Snow on 1/04/07 am kinda nervous, but I feel very comfortable with Dr. Snow. Can't wait till the first 10 weeks are over. Doing alot of research on this and I know what not to do. I am self pay and I understand why only paying 7500.00 in Mexico is a bad thing

You sound in the same boat I am in, doesn't look like you have much weight to lose, I have about 70 to 85 to lose and my ins. won't cover unless I have 40 or over BMI. I don't really want to wait that long!!! That is why I am self pay. Is Dr. Marsden in the same office complex as Snow. Good Luck by the way I hope everythig goes well.

MY day is fast appproaching ...

Hi Tomecia,

By the time you read this, you will probably be banded. The nerves will settle. I understand how it is easy to think something will go wrong, but the other shoe will not drop. You are on your way. Dr. Marsden is wonderful and his nurses are great. They understand the experience and treat you with respect with all questions and concerns.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing post op.

MMT

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
