lol.. Can you tell I am reluctant to fully accept victory? Old habits die hard, and I have trained myself to always look at the carbs and Fiber on labels.

I am super hopeful that I will eventually be able to include healthy complex carbs with spiking my blood sugar.

I'm hopeful for you too. Type 2 tends to go away with weight loss...very highly you'll have complex carbs again. 😊

Ok so I tried the Isopure and it immediately made me nauseous . My mouth started getting all watery and I was sure I was going to puke. I think I am just going to stick with what I know I like and works because it gets expensive to buy something and find out it doesn't work.

Not a great start, but at least the nausea didn't last too long. I am gonna go take my pooch for a walk before the rain starts for today.

Just in case anyone is looking for a different brand of Protein Shakes to try I thought I would post what is working very well for me. I got theses at Sam's and they taste great. It only takes me about an hour to drink the whole 11oz and there are only 7 net carbs.

This is a long post, but I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of what the OP said (first post). I am not intending to be on another diet, but have a lifestyle change. I will have those things I loved in moderation. I will be back at the gym hitting it hard too, as I have always done, with heavy weights and cardio. So, no diet for me. Ever again. I'll continue to make healthier choices (which is fun with new recipes) and enjoy life. I won't be counting everything I eat either; that's just me. I will listen to my body.

I've seen them. But since I received a bunch of Premier Protein through my insurance, I'm not buying anymore. How's the taste? Decent?

I read through that thread so it is funny that you would post it here now lol. I agree with the premise of his post. I want and hope to achieve a permanent and sustainable life style. By doing this I will reach both my health and weight goals. I think we have to be brutally honest with ourselves if we are going to figure out what we are willing to continue doing long term.

i will follow my doc/nut plan for the first couple of months because I do not want complications and I want to maximize my chances for success. I will gradually adopt the healthy diet and exercise that keeps me where I want to be and is sustainable. I am not a gym person, never was and never will be. I prefer walking, hiking, biking...etc..

I am looking at this as a tool to help me achieve positive change, but I very much still plan on enjoying my life. I want to be around to watch my grandchildren grow up and I want to be active well into my senior years.

I like the taste, but as we know it is very individual. Week 3 I can have fruit and I plan on taking one of theses shakes, some frozen strawberries, and vanilla yogurt and throwing it in my Ninja for a delicious Protein shake/ smoothie 😊

Yes, this. I will follow my doc/nut plans in the beginning as well. My goal is to be plant based....maybe 90% of the time. I have to throw chicken/fish every now and then. :) Before the pre-op diet, I was plant based. My husband went on it with me. I had new recipes to try all the time, easy too. And everything was sooooo good. My husband ate a lot of it. I felt awesome too; my digestive system was thanking me. LOL I can't wait to be cleared.

Thank you! I just got home. Everything's fine, and we even did my post op appointment so I didn't have to go in on Friday!

This morning my stomach is very gurgly ( is that even a word?) every time I sip. It doesn't hurt or anything it is just weird?

Then i guess we are the weird crew cause mine is making those noises also.

We eat mostly chicken, turkey, and fish. Probably 70% of the members of my church are vegetarians/vegans with the other 30% eating chicken/fish. I don't know if I will ever be completely off meat, but I rarely eat processed foods anymore. I haven't been to a McDonald's in probably 3 years except for a coffee.

The problem I have had Is that I need the fats in my diet because too many carbs always spiked my blood sugar. Going forward I will have to see what works and what doesn't.

I have lots of good recipes also I can share later on when we are on regular foods.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
