Hey guys! First time posting here but I'm just kind of curious, I have BCBS Michigan, I was wondering if anyone else has the same insurance and how long it took for your approval? Even if you don't have the same insurance I'd still love to hear! I just got done with all insurance requirements, everything has been sent and now it's up to them! The nerves have officially set it. I also have BCBS of Michigan I started seeeing my surgeon July of 2016 and they submitted my info which BCBS said I needed six months of diet history so of course I got discouraged and said forget it. In October 2016 I got a call from the surgeons office checking on my progress when I told them I had given up I didn't want to do another 6 month history they basically talked me into going on which I'm thankful they did they also helped me find a doctor that can help me with everything. I started seeing a nutrition doctor who was amazing she helped me so much even lost about 25lbs on my own then I started having second thoughts thinking I can do it on my own until the new year rolled in and I gained. Long story short my last day seeing her was April 5th 2017 my six months were done. They submitted my paperwork that week that Monday morning I got a call saying I was approved. I picked my date myself due to my job I wanted to start at the beginning of a new month so May 1st 2017 I had my surgery. So it will happen fast if all your information they require is done correctly. Good luck on everything keep us posted..

My dr's office actually submitted everything on Wednesday as well! Still no word on my end [emoji25]But I'm so happy for you!! When do you get a date??

Call the general line and go to "precertification" ask precertification if they have a case for you, if they don't, ask them for the number for Bariatric surgery (they will transfer you). Ask for a reference number, ask where they are in the process and what is their next steps. If it goes to Bariatric line, ask who your case worker/nurse is and get their extension for your call tomorrow.

No problem. My case was with Bariatric line, they were WONDERFUL. My case workers is calling me this afternoon to set up my post op sessions. She will be calling me every week for 3 months post op for free nutritional counciling!

It's June 19th but I'm on a waiting list if someone cancels! They said that rarely happens though. I just ordered all my vitamins, I bought two cases of pure protein and I think my husband bought me the 30 oz Yeti tumbler I wanted for water sipping!

I'm new, this is my 1st post! I was very blessed & lucky enough 2 get my gastric bypass surgery on June 16 2007! My starting weight was 355 & I got down to 170! I was wearing a size M shirt size 10 jeans! NEVER in my ENTIRE life have I EVER been so small! I felt confident & happy! Life was so good 4 me! It took me about 2 1/2 yrs, maybe a little more 2 lose the weight.

My Mom died tragically in Jan 2010 & in Sept that same year I started getting sick. 2 yrs later I was diagnosed with POTS Syndrome. I can no longer work, I can no longer drive! I used 2 walk 1 1/2 hrs before I went 2 work & did the same routine after work 2 get in my exercise! For the next 3 years it was from hospital 2 hospital, then from Rehabilation 2 Rehabilation, then back 2 ER 2 ER. I lived in a hospital bed & slowly the weight started 2 come back on! I blinked & I was already at 210 pds. I had 2 have surgery after surgery, nerve block after nerve block & I was in SO much pain, I couldn't move, how on earth could I exercise? I ate what I could, but sometimes my meds were working against me! This last year was the worst, physically & mentally! I had a nerve block in June followed by a Hysterectomy in July. I was in SO much pain from June- Jan, I gained 50 pds & now I'm at 275 pds!

My best friend died Jan 23rd & I'm more depressed than ever! I haven't been this fat in 10+ yrs, I miss my Mom, I miss my best friend & I don't know how 2 get my weight back under control.

Can someone offer me advice? I need like a diet plan 2 follow, what can I eat 2 lose weight? I need 2 get this weight back off!

I need the support of someone, since my support system is gone!
