I am a self pay patient in new jersey, My insurance company does not cover weight me.

I totally have a $13000 cash deposit I saved for this surgery.

I found a new jersey surgeon has a $12000 sleeve package, but he does not offer any complications insurance for me to buy.

I found a florida surgery he has a $13000 packet including blis complication cost coverage. But i need to pay hotel and flights for me and my companion. But if i really have leaking, infection, etc. How i could immediately fly to Florida for the revision?

May I know how are your self pay guys prepare for the complications cost?

I am in Orlando and self pay. My original surgeon didn't offer complication insurance. Therefore, I opted to go to Dr Illan in Tijuana, MX where I paid less and was able to buy Medical Tourism insurance. It covers me for 6 months post surgery and I can go to local doctors. Luckily, my doctor has very few complications and I am doing great!!!

Yes. It covered complications there and here in the US. However it is a reimbursement type insurance, not like your major medical.

Thanks.

But when i asked the doctor, he didn't mention this reimburse type insurance for complications. All doctors have this reimburse complications insurance or only some?

No, this is specific to Medical Tourism. This was one of the main reasons I decided to travel to Mexico for surgery.

The company name is Global Protection Solutions. There are other plans, but since my local Dr. didn't offer Blis, I had to rethink things. I had other reasons for going, but this was one of the major factors in my decision.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
