Count me in!! I need some motivation and I'm reaching out. I hit the elipical for 30 minute of medium intensity and then did strength training, pushups/situps, etc. Goal...minimum of four times per week...formal exercise. More if my schedule allows it. No excuses.

Goal #2...get more focused on eating properly and watch calories. Eliminate refined sugars (ahhh cookies) and more of the carbs I have been taking in.

jmcambra,

Thanks! I'm really hitting the exercise hard because I have a PS consult on the 15th and I want the Doc to say I can have the belt lipectomy(lower body lift) this year instead of next. I have the $ now, as I just refinanced my house.

Ok, I did it!!! I joined 24 hr fitness (right next to my house) I have NEVER EVER stepped foot into a gym before, so I am totally freaking out!!! I cant just let the $$$ i spent go to waste, so I need to go.. but really need that push to get over my fear. My fear is not from being so big and people looking, its from not knowing what to do once i get in the door, being overwhelmed by machines!! I even had a freakin nightmare about it-- im not even OCD!! but i sure feel like it..... LOL

Ok so last night went out for a 45min walk with doggy and did 10 30 to 60 second burst of sprinting!!!!!

Doggy with short legs was less than thrilled. I was ecstatic. Not really the couch to 5k program, but I will definately do this much more often!!!

Dont worry Lisa, everyone had to start somewhere. Just ask people questions both at the gym and on here and youll find there only too happy to help. Explain to the people there youve never joined a gym and they will help. You might even get a free personal trainer session. It is important to learn how so you dont hurt yourself.

You can get books on how to do it too.

Tuesday : 50 laps in the pool. Tomorrow is weight trainning and swimming.

Go Jmcambra! Waht kind of Dog was it? Bet the Dog was shocked.

Okay Monday night...Step aerobics class...45 minutes

Also did 50 crunches in the stretch room with 4 other guys around me..LOLLL..was pretty funny actually with me on the floor. Also did a few machines before the class.

Welcome to the new people just starting out. Remember to we all had to start at the gym at one time and felt EXACTLY the same way. It'll be fine in a week when u get in the swing of it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
