Gas PAINS!!!!! Liquids Post Op!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Beavuz
I'm in Australia [emoji1037] so I'm not sure if the names are different but I buy these from the super market they ice filled packs with different flavours.
I also crush ice mixed with chocolate whey Protein added with a piece of banana and skim milk
'This helps my protein in take and also helps with the Fluid intake. Mix it up a little I've made some concoctions that tasted vile but after a few attempts I found some that work
Also clear Soup goes down beautifully
Hope this helps a little

They are not SOOOO bad but oh man do they hurt. I am 5 days post op and I thought I was in the clear but they came and they came with a vengeance!

And this liquid post op diet is KILLING ME. I AM SO HUNGRY ALL THE TIME. I CANNOT WAIT FOR MONDAY the 13th... that's when I start my next phase of diet.

Any tips, help, advice??

I am in the EXACT same boat. I'm 5 days post op too. I'm so hungry. Not my stomach hurting or anything, just these liquids. Oh. My. Gosh. I don't ever want to see broth or Jello ever again in my life. I'm so excited that Monday I can have pudding LOL.

I am 10 weeks post op, lost 50lb so I'm feeling great, just know how important following the diet is, you can really hurt yourself if you try to start eating solids early. Hang in there! The only thing I still eat from the liquid phase is popscles. I try to remind myself that eating what I wanted got me in this place so it's my time to sacrifice for my health

I tried Milk of Magnesia and felt great after my first bowel movement. Monday. But today (Wed) the gas pains are coming back. I've also thought many times about chewing a cracker and spitting it out. This is way harder than I ever imagined! But I'm trying to remind myself this phase won't last forever and if we've gone thru the surgery we can do this!!!!

I had the same thing last week. I took the magnesia too and oh gosh it helped that day but the next couple days were rough again and then I felt better after that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
