Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

HI I was banded on the 12.8.08 and yes you are naked but you will be fine and I took cuppa soups with me as you will need to have some thing to eat back at the hotel,Dr Chris does not recommend slim fast post opp

Hi

Dr Chris told me I could keep my knickers on during the operation. You will obviously have your top half bare.

Oh damm my pre op diet isnt going to plan im very nervous now i have 9days from tomorro til my op i havnt lost a lb but then i havnt been on my best behaviour anyone got advice... Oh and thanks englishrose for saying u can keep ur nickers on i defo wouldnt like to be without them haha

Hi Flirtylass

I kind of did a 10 day pre-op diet. I lost 7lb. I had slimfast for breakfast, fresh fish with vegetables for dinner or Chichen stirfry. I just ate everything which was really low in fat. I was the only one in my room at the hospital that had done a pre-op diet. In fact the lady I shared the room with was eating Indian takeaway practically all week and Dr Chris still did their ops. I think having a smaller liver makes the operation easier for them.

I didnt do a liquid diet prior to the op because I figured I would be totally sick of it having to be on liquids for 1-2 weeks after the op.

I had scrambled egg for dinner tonight and I feel as if I have had a large meal. God I love this band!

Best of luck, come on you can do it!

EnglishRose

Ah thanks englishrose thank god for u im right at ease now i defo aint gona have (pardon the language) any s*hit before the op think il just eat sensable its just hard i think the thoughts of the op makes it harder haha its a terror how my nerves have taken over i didnt think i would get so nervous ah well has to be done... I cant wait to eat so little and feel full must be great... i carry all my weight on my top half dont know how they gona get in there

Hi Flirtylass

Some doctors dont even require a pre-op diet but I know Dr Chris likes his patients to be on a low fat diet before the op.

I too was very nervous before the op. I was in a right mood and very snappy before I went. I kept thinking of reasons why he wouldnt

band me but I was worrying for nothing, I think its natural.

I met 2 ladies who I shared a room with at the hospital and a guy at the hotel and we are E-mailing each other daily with updates on how we are getting on. You will be surprised how many people at the hotel will be going to the hospital, having their last supper in the restaurant the night before.

You will feel like shit after the op but 24 hours later you will be surprised at how much better you feel.

EnglishRose

Ah thats great u met so many people over there and are in contact with them still great support for ya.. Are they all doing well? Oh i just wish it was tomorro now get it over and done with i just wana be the other side of the op and all to go well

Thanks Angie, for the website you gave earlier....I've just been on it and there's loads of good information on there! What a bummer!!!!! No-one told me you could wear your knickers during the operation!! Ah well, at least I won't have to look those people in the eye again, except when I go for fill's!:w00t:

Hi

I felt like that too but believe me it soon comes round and you will be banded before you know it.

One lady who didnt do the pre-op diet has lost 17lbs since 13th August. The guy has lost 5kg (not sure what that is in pounds). Im not sure what the other lady has lost as I need to phone her.

EnglishRose

God you's are all doing so well hope i do that good did u take anything over with u for the gas pain or do they give u somethin? oh thanks for ur time englishrose

hello thanks everyone im so glad i have found this site reading all these posts make me feel so much better about the surgery everyone is really concerned about me going abroad but reading these posts make me see i have made the right decision thankyou again and look forward to reading more posts and seeing how well everyone is doin with there weight loss

Hi

No I didnt take anything for the gas pain and they dont give you anything for that. At the hospital they give you pain med and anti sickness medication. To be honest I was quite lucky my gas pain wasnt too bad. Walking helps though. There is a really nice park not far from the hotel/train station. We did a few laps of that and felt much better.
